Icons, 2-d drawings or 3-d?
I noticed that Rise of Nations has taken the path of EE, and made their icons 2 demensional drawings. I think icons with 3-demensional pictures, like in AOK, would look cooler than the drawings Rise of Nations has now for each icon, (such as icons to build a unit, building, or diplomicy). So which ones do you guys prefer, icons with 2-d drawings, like in EE or RON (currently), or 3-d drawings like in AOK?

not 3-d, it's actually 2-d, but it looks 3-d because they were computer generated, unlike RON's, which I think were hand drawn.

Actually, almost all of our unit icons began as a 3D rendering of the in-game unit. They were then passed on to a 2D artist that would add various other details such as a painted background environment. Many of our "buildings", "build", "upgrade" and "research" icons are a mix of 3D with painted in 2D elements as well.

2-D is fine. I want to be able to play RoN on my computer, which is far from being the ultimate powerforce.
