OCC, ICS & Perfectionist Succession Teams
An idea that might appeal is to have three different Succession Teams all playing the same map.

The teams would be as follows:

1) OCC
2) ICS
3) Perfectionist

We could then make some interesting comparisons about game strategy!

Please sign up below, and indicate which team you wish to join.
(I would like to play ICS - it may be both of us but SG[1] may prefer OCC)

In the meantime perhaps we can think about 2.42 or MP and map size. My preference is for a Medium World, with plenty of water. A small world and a huge landmass could give the conquerors too much advantage. (We should eliminate re-starting civs)

I'm on the OCC team. Since the OCC rules don't allow conquest I think it would be best to make all teams go for the spaceship victory in order to make better comparisons. Anyone have different ideas about this?

I'm in - I'll play either OCC or ICS depending on popularity - if anyone is speaking to me after the headstart scenario ...

I would be willing for any of the three teams. It might be tough to hold the ICS bunch to an AC victory, though.

Well, it's not like they're not allowed to go on the warpath. They should just keep one AI city alive while they go to AC. I just think that all teams should at least have the same objective in the game, or else it wouldn't make much sense to compare strategies. But that's just my opinion; others may disagree.

The object is to win the game. As we all know this can be done two ways. Let us see which is the most efficient method with the teams we sign up.

If we ever get around to a sequel, I would like to see the ICS team play OCC; The Perfectionists play ICS and the OCC gang play perfectionist. This is fun after all!

Having said that; Paul has a valid argument as regards the detailed comparison of strategy. Let the discussion continue!!

And kcbob - I like your point!

I'll sign up for the ICS team.

SG[1], I'm still speaking to you, but I was rather badly bruised and banged up by that AI Headstart game.

We could compare scores whether it be by conquest or via AC. Then again, we (assuming I'm an ICSer) could ask the OCCers to conquer the world.

All seriousness aside, I'll take ICS and AC is fine with me.

I'll play perfectionist. I'm not sure about the value of comparison though, we all know that ICS is more powerful than the others, its just not as much fun, not inferior.

There have been a couple of times when I started out in ICS mode and before I knew it, I was actually converting to a perfectionist style due to a lack of immediate AI threat.
