Preferred/Shunned Govts
In the PTW book, the new Civs have preferred and shunned government types. Is there a listing somewhere for the original CivIII civs' preferred and shunned govts? Or did it not matter by civ which govt was used?

I think preferred/shunned goverments only affect a Civilizations attitude towards you, not really influence their choice. To see the original civs preffered goverments you could look in the editor or look around on here, must be somewhere. But I don't think it changes what goverment type they prefer, i've often seen America as a Communsim, always makes me laugh too.

Take heed of shunned govs n dont use em less you have to. I have tried to use shunned govs before n it is often very ugly. The later in the game the worse the results of tring to go over to a shunned gov is. Once I was playn as a Civ that shunned communism I tried to become a communist civ n it was as if I had open the gates of hell. It took over 10 turns to regain control of my civ n every single city was in flames. 3/4ths of all my city improvments where totald. Thankfuly I saved the game n stayd with Monarchy rather then go though that again.

Actually, I asked Soren about them last night in the after-chat chat and he said the effects of shunned and preferred governments were very minor can be pretty much ignored.

Yes, late game periods of Anarchy are killers for non-relegious civilizations.

You'll find that info in the Civilizations area of the editor.
