Can you get a leader by fighting barbarians?
Just wondering, cause I'll beat like 20 of 'em down with an elite warrior or spearman and won't get diddly-squat. Can I get a leader like this or am I wasting my time?

No you can't. You're wasting your time.

I think so... and, Yes you are wasting your time.
Odds are really low, and yet, they are still odds.

again, no you are wasting your time
however, if you are "training" your units to elite status, then its not such a waste. Train your units, then ship them to the front line to maybe produce a leader.
not somthing I would ever do, however, I don't have the patience for that.

A lot of players leave a barb encampment outside their borders for the express purpose of training units. But I rarely do that either. I just don't like the idea of chaos in, or near, my empire.

I will nurse barbarian encampments as long as I can. While your later ancient units won't get much experiance from barbs, you can alwasy build warriors, train them on barbs, and then upgrade them

They will lose their elite status, though...

They're good for those Regular spearmen you often get before you build Barracks ...
