Ifrogrames Forum = Kaput?
Anyone else having a nightmare problem trying to get into the "official" Infrogrames Forum?
its just saying "Only 2000 connections allowed"
The only thing is, because the game is close to going Gold, when you see that message you automatically think:-
"Ahhhhhhh..... its busy 'cause its gone Gold!!"
Then hammer the site for access even more.... but when everyone does this the site stays sick :-(

whats even more annoying is that i keep on getting emails that people have posted in forums i particpate in and i can't even see whats going on...
I wish everyone would just use these..
Either that, or get the dumb UT2k3 or whatever version of that game kids off the darned server!!!

Latest scuttlebutt is that Infrogreed is going under. Moo3 release delayed because they are arrears on payment to the developer who is holding the final cut. Showdown. Moo3 may end up being vaporware.

I finally got in. One of the posts I saw once I was in suggested that deleting your cookies and relogging in fixes the constant message about max connections. Apparently, you have to register for an account and log in to even look at the forums now, not just to post.
PS:
You can safely ignore jimmytrick, I learned that much from my time spent on the civ3 forums.

Ok. I was hoping he was talking out of his ass.
I tried to register at the IG forums but It was a no go. I got the reset e-mail and followed the instructions but it still won't let me view the forums. It says I am logged in?

It appears that the NIC card on our MySQL box has elected to not work properly lately. We are trying to resolve the problem and new hardware is on it's way.
We hope to have the problem fixed soon.

What's with the thing? I deleted my cookies and logged on again and the board worked fine.
Before that I didn't even get to browse the threads.

The database server over there appears to be down. It probably collapsed under the weight of all the traffic after some idiot went and posted a fake 'gone gold' announcement.

Hmmm... tough choices... Crashing forum database on one hand... Annoying pop-up ads for porn scanning software on the other... hmmm.

Seriously? I'm referring to the big pop-up windows that scream, THERE MAY BE PORNOGRAPHIC FILES HIDDEN ON YOUR COMPUTER! or somesuch drivel. Then there's a button you can click to initiate some sort of scan. I never click it, of course.
I thought this was advertising to support the site, just like the annoying fake UI ads for utilities to adjust your system clock.

There was an announcement on the IG forums that the NIC for the database box was having issues and they were getting a replacement.
Of course, considering how cheap and ubiquitous 100Mbps NICs are these days, I don't know why that would take more than an hour...

Heh, I somehow doubt that thats going to happen with Rantz presumably on some beach for another week at least But then again, all the announcements thus far regarding dates have come from Chantz, at least all the ones ive seen.

I've had major issues accessing the IG forums since they "upgraded" over a month ago. The up side is that it has allowed me to sit back a bit and get some perspective on all the fuss over when, if ever, MoO3 will make it to release.

Seems like they may have got their upgrade done. Forum seems to be working again. If you consider 10k of whiners screaming for a game they've been repeatedly taunted and denied with as "working."
