SENATE BILL: Integration of Avignon and Honorification of Duddha
EDIT: THIS BILL WOULD HAVE COUNTERED PREVIOUS RENAMING ORDERS, AND HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN
This bill is a recommendation to the DM. Should this bill pass, the senate makes the following recommendation to the Domestic Minister:
Quote:
|
The senate strongly recommends the Domestic Minister rename the former French capitol of Avignon to "El Duderino".
|
Poll lasts 3 days.
P.S. Yes, I know honorification isn't a word.

Congratulations Duddha! They thought about naming an ocean for me long ago during my dual Admiral-ship with Shiber....but an entire city is much better than a petty ocean...

Well it still hasn't quite happened yet, Aggie (as SMC in the 5th term) appointed Shiber and I as Admiral's in leading an exploration force to find and explore the lost civs, who ended up being the Indians, Japanese, Chinese, and Zulus.
After that talks of naval commandment kind of fell to the wayside....and I believe Shiber's and mine Admiral-status was changed once Aggie left SMC.

Off the page in only a few days. Guess that's what happens during elections. Still some more voting time left, so here's a bump.
You know, despite there being many votes against, no one has made a case as to why Duddha shouldn't get a city named after him. Would someone in the opposition make their case? (Unless it's general spite and politics, in which case you should remain silent. )

I'm afraid I must say no to this proposal.
The name of Avignon should be Los Alamos.
Why?
Back in Term 5, when I was IE minister, I let each minister rename 1 city, if they wanted to. I wanted Avignon to be renamed to Los Alamos, and GenghisFarb wanted Heliopolis to be renamed to Ferropolis.
(see this post: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...postid=1431434)
I know city names aren't the most important parts of the game, but I'm wondering why these city name changes were never implemented.

Sorry, Jonny, I didn't realize. (BTW, MWIA says in that thread he knew there was a city to rename but forgot; perhaps it was never renamed?)
I hereby withdraw this bill.
If Thebes and Memphis still need to be renamed, I'll introduce a new bill for one of those two. Duddha, if you read this, what's your preference?

Hmm... wherever Thebes and Memphis were, they've already been renamed. I think I'll choose Susa, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

How does this relate to the CoL? It's just city naming.
