That's an incredibly easy question to field.
Democratic Thought Control would be like the direction the United States is heading, with the illusion of the Democratic process masking the paucity of "real" choices, or differentiating aspects, in the dominant political parties. The "Tweedledee or Tweedledum" dilemna. Thought control can be accomplished by the gradual narrowing, or homogenization, of socially acceptable behaviors brought on by the concentration of power in corporate owned media, and the desire of all good monopolists to restrict the possibility of divergence from the market (your mind = your pocketbook) that they wish to control.
For a Eudaemonic Police State, imagine Plato's Republic, strictly enforced. Or, essentially, the professed goals of the early Soviet Union.
