City numbers
1. How do you "move" the size indicator of a city?
I have used a new graphic and the size indicator is just too high.
2.Is there a way to make the population number(i.e 100.000 people in Rome etc) appear in scenarios as well?
Thanks in advance.

I think this is it.

Palette 249 in the border on top and on the left of any city icon determines the top-left corner of where the city size box will appear. Palette 250 will show where the nation's flag will appear.

There are 2 orange (pallette index 249) and 2 blue (250) pixels on the green border of each city icon. They set the vertical and horizontal position of the city size indicator and flag.
BTW Palaiologos - where did you get the Roman villa graphic from?

I think Stefan Hartel's cities would look better with that villa.

A little slow...
Not sure what you mean in No2. Population usually does show in the city box. This example is ToT, but IIRC, it shows on the title bar of the city box in earlier versions. Am I missing the boat?
(and yes, Case, Hardjoy, and Mercator, that is your artwork on that unit - thanks!)

Population
Hmmm...........
Interesting Boco, ToT you say?
The unit graphic clearly proves it is a screen from a scenario, and the 60.000 people indicator is visible.
This is screen is from a normal civ2 game:

Oops.
The previous screen was from a scenario(Julius Verne's world).
You can clearly see that there is no population indicator in the city.
This is a picture from a normal civ2 game. Sparta is a size 8 city and so her population is accordingly 360.000 people as depicted in this screen. Why the hell doesn't the same information appear in scenarios?

Anyway, this is the chance to post something I made a while ago when I was very, very bored. Maybe Palaiologos can use it in some way...

Palaiologos: I thought that was only an issue with objective-based scenarios... I don't think there's any way around it (except ToT ).
Wait a minute, there's half a way around it. If you turn off the scenario flag (through hexediting, or maybe simply saving as a savegame but with the .scn extension??) you can keep the population displayed. Unfortunately, that also means you will have to give up non-standard turns, objectives and just about everything else limited to scenarios. So I'm not sure if that's worth it... And who actually really looks at that population anyway?

I do, actually.
The "problem" exists with both types of scenarios, not objective-based only. I chose a Julius Vernes world screenshot exactly because it is a non objective-based scenario.
But you are right, there is no way around it.

I can see circumstances where I'd like to turn it off. In an historical scenario where a low population density should dictate a bunch of size 1 cities, you face the dilemma of cities disappearing upon capture. One workaround is to increase the size to absorb a capture or two, but that raises the population to ~5-10 times the historical population.

Mayhap I should substitute "Toe count" for "population" in Game.txt?

I am pretty sure that it's in labels.txt and that MGE and FW versions of that are mutually incompatible.
