Turn 3600 BC to JShelR.
The principle is simple - but thinking about it - we would have 4 people hanging around in a chat room while the fifth person takes his turn. In other words for a couple of hours we each would be "Hanging around" doing nothing constructive for about 80% of the time. The benefit, we would maybe get through about 10 turns each, - my question now is - is it worth doing?
Anyway, if we go for it we have to ALL be available at the same time - as if we were playing MP. We meet in a chatroom - we used the Apolyton Chat room. Then we set up a private chat room and we were off.
I think the difficult thing to arrange would be a mutually acceptable time. as an example, JSHelR's suggestion of 7:10AM to 8:15 AM NY Time is (I think) 12:10 PM - 1:15 PM GMT - sorry, I'm not available then. Probably to get the best availability I would have thought maybe a Sunday evening GMT (Sunday afternoon NY).
It might be worth trying a turn based MP session - there would be lag I think, but it might be worth a go. I know I can host Direct IP - can you all "Join" MP games?

Thanks ColDark - I could commit a couple of hours on a Sunday Afternoon or evening in a chat room (I'll be at home, with a cup of tea and so could watch telly and do other things whilst waiting for the turn).
Not sure I understood the idea of a turn based MP session - would this be a completely new game ? (or could we convert the PBEM game to Turn based for a while)

I believe, in fact I'm pretty sure, we could convert the PBEM session into turn based MP, and then revert. I will experiment by setting up a PBEM game, and then try loading it MP. I've played a few MP games now, and I'm pretty sure this would work (although because of JShelR being in Canada, may be laggy).

This Sunday is not good for me (sorry to be a damp squib). I am visiting family this weekend.
This is the kind of difficulty that we are bound to get trying to tee up 5 people.
SORRY

Keep going guys. At some point the communications broke down and all we have to do is find out when.

No news or contact from argh - if I don't hear by the weekend I'll try to remove him from the game and carry on.

I Just received Turn 3500BC from Aaargh. I'm sure I've done this turn before.
In fact I definitely did and sent 3500BC to JShelR on 9th Jan. Alexx says he sent that turn on again to RedTom.
I think Aargh needs to check the turn and pass on a later turn.

OK Then Aargh has just sent me the 3500 turn again - and says taht's the last one he got. So I propose I take this turn again - and pass it on down the line. If everyone agrees to do the turn - even if they've seen it before, then it WILL sort itself out within this turn!!!

My mistake - correct file sent to me by Argh this time. I took my turn and passed on the file.

Yeah - that was defo my mistake - for some reason I loaded the wrong file. I have now however loaded the correct file, and passed it on to JShelR.
Cheers
