edit: I also have the clerks soundtrack. Great movie, decent soundtrack. Chewabacca is pretty cool. And of course Beserker!

Final Fantasy: Kefka's Theme
Final Fantasy: The Man With The Machine Gun
GI Joe: The Movie (or Cobra's themesong to others)
The Empire Strikes Back: Imperial March
The Phantom Menace: Droid March (or something like that)
DuckTales (The Nintendo game): Journey to the Moon
....that's all I can think of.

I recommend:
The Grifters
L'Ascenseur au L'Echaffaud: Miles Davis
Get Carter (the original)
The Wicker Man
The Man With The Golden Arm
Music for Films: Brian Eno
Koyaanisqaatsi and Powwaqaatsi: Philip Glass
Hitchcock Themes
The Belly of An Architect: Wim Mertens
Any good compilation of a film composer's work, such as Thomas Newman's (chap who does Six Feet Under, and Boston Public) and Mark Isham (who did The Moderns and Trouble in Mind, amongst others).
Also individual tracks by people like Kraftwerk (Trans Europe Express, Geiger Counter, Ohm Sweet Ohm, Morgenspaziergang and Mitternacht, and Kometenmelodie all come to mind)
and Jon Hassell from works such as Dream Theory In Malaya and Fourth World: Possible Musics Vol.I.
David Toop has also made some excellent compilations, such as Ocean of Sound, Guitars on Mars and Crooning on Venus. You should also check out the Portishead albums, Mono's and Goldfrapp's works- all have outstanding tracks with very filmic qualities.

American TV shows from the 50s had some great jazz themes: the themes from Peter Gunn, Route 66, and Perry Mason are particular standouts (th Peter Gunn theme was also covered, quite nicely, by Art of Noise).
My favorite original soundtrack is probably Peter Gabriel's for Last Temptation of Christ, followed by Randy Newman's for Ragtime.
For a collection of great songs, I especially like the soundtrack to A Rage in Harlem, which is full of great early R&B.

If you like anime theme songs, then you have to have Dragonball Z's theme, if only for the humor value of the lyrics. Even if you don't understand Japanese, the chorus of "Cha la, head cha la" is hilarious.
As for game soundtracks, I was listening to the "Shenmue" soundtrack earlier. Absolutely beatiful Asian-influenced symphonic pieces. I highly recommend it.

Well, this thread lost momentum pretty quickly, didn't it? Come on people, I need some more good suggestions from you!
Kass, if you happen to read this, I liked that track you e-mailed to me a lot. If you can think of a more convenient way of getting the other to me then by all means do so; if not, then I guess we'll have to make do with e-mail (that is if you're fine with it, but it's just that they take a while to download on my ISDN connection ).

BladeRunner soundtrack by Vangelis - this was one of the first soundtracks (that I know of) to interlace dialogue from the movie into the music.
If your really a masochist to your ears (and it does sound like it, from what I see on your original list), get the Boston Pops version of the BladeRunner soundtrack, as well.....

--"Cowboy Bebop - Tank!
Cowboy Bebop - Go Go Cactus Man"
Well, these aren't quite typical of her work, but you should try anything by Yoko Kanno.
--"If you have these two, you might as well get Komm Susser Todd from the EoE soundtrack."
Definitely top choice from the Eva soundtracks, although Cruel Angel's Thesis is better for those energetic moods.
I've got a fondness for "Marking Time Waiting for Death" too.
--"Princess Mononoke Hime OST"
The music is pretty decent, but I did want to point out that you're being redundant here. Either "Princess Mononoke" or "Mononoke Hime" is fine.
Some other anime suggestions:
Alien 9 - Rebirth
Alien 9 - Flower Psychedelic
Android Ana Maico 2010 - Maico wa Odoru (see how much of a song you can get out of scales)
Azumanga Daioh -- Sora Mimi Keeki (crack to a bouncy tune)
Bastard - Monochrome Trouble (There's a reason the song wasn't subtitled for the US release)
Berserk - Forces (battle music to rival the Conan score)
Cowboy Bebop - Space Lion
Cowboy Bebop - Don't Bother None
Cowboy Bebop - Blue
Dragon Half - Watashi no Tamagoyaki (My Omlette)
Escaflowne - Empty the Pocket
Escaflowne - Kaze go Fuku hi
Escaflowne - Dance of Curse
Escaflowne - Sora
Escaflowne - Sora's Folktale
Escaflowne - Yubiwa
Excel Saga - Ai (Chuuseishin)
Figure 17 - Boy
Fruits Basket - Chiisana Inori
Fruits Basket - For Fruits Basket
FLCL - Ride on Shooting Star
Hunter X Hunter - Tiayou wa Yoru mo Kakayaku
Infinite Ryvius - Dis
Infinite Ryvius - Yume o Sugite mo
Jin-Roh - Grace - Main Theme - Omega
Kareshi Kanoujo no Jiyou - Yume no Naka e
Key the Metal Idol - Key no Lullaby
Serial Experiments Lain - Duvet
Serial Experiments Lain - Kodoku no Signal
Serial Experiments Lain - Kazoku no Syouzou
Mahoromatic - Mahoro de Mambo
NieA_7 - Koko made Oide to
NieA_7 - Viinasu to Chiisana Kamisama
Noir - Kopperia no Hitsugi
Noir - Kirei na Kanjou
Ranma - Yasashii, ii Ko ni Narenai (also known as "the Baka Song")
Slayers - Give a Reason (especially the remix)
Tenchi Muyo - Autumn of Life
Tenchi Muyo - I'm a Pioneer
Tenchi Muyo - Sleaping Beauty on the Balcony
Tenchi Muyo - Photon, Proton, Synchroton
Witch Hunter Robin - Shell
For the one non-anime suggestion:
Twin Peaks - Falling
Wraith
QUARKBAR - the candy with flavour and charm.

How about some Non-O STs? You know, The Harder They Come, High Fidelity... Plus stuff designed to be scores but never realised as such... Bowie's Diamond Dogs or The Kinks' Arthur for instance.

Anything from Doom, of course, and the Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (that is the instrumental one, isn't it?)
