Anybody want this game?
I have been told that a saved game can be sent to some one else. If this is true, I have a game at an extremely interesting point. I have never seen the Hive so powerful. If it IS possible to send a game via email, and anyone wishes to see if they can pull this one off, let me know...

Send away, stunt_man_19@yahoo.com, also include password if there is one. Just attach the save file on the e-mail either the file or zip format is cool.

Me! Me! I'd like one!
My email address is in the user profile, and I'd prefer the save game zipped.

To Chowlett : Alinestra's "mania" for the Hive. (I like that faction myself but Allie's case is so interesting because she means what she says about Yang and also supports her ideas... but she IS a Hive maniac)

LOL, yes.
(Ali, if you'd like a copy of my winning Hive compare game - against Vel - one turn before transcendance, I'll send it you.)
It's SMAC and shows what can be done with crawlers (over 200 land and over 250 sea crawlers). Best science base was churning out 2550 labs/turn. It was a double blind tech stag game with Vel, a compare game (both of us starting from the same position on the same map as the Hive.)
Gave Vel a new perspective re crawling food to turn the pops into transcendii rather than crawling energy.

I'd like to see xgman's game if it's not Smax, I'm curious as to how people play Chairman Sheng.
And Googlie, I'd also like to see a copy of your compare game. That must have taken forever! I'm a big fan of crawling nutrients myself.

I thought that you had forgotten to zip the file.. I've never seen a 3Mb .sav before! Nor a tech cost of 36000. My only critisicm would be that you could have gone simple-green-knowlege-cybernetic and teched every turnrather than every 2, but all in all I'm amazed you ever finished that one! The patience alone...

LOL, S2 - you are right.
I'd like to say that it was planned, that I needed the annual ec's in order to buy the ascent, but truthfully, it never occurred to me to change back to frontier after getting a "more advanced" setting choice.
But frontier/green/knowledge/cyber still turns out a healthy 6000+ ec's per turn while giving over 37,000 lab points, enough for one tech a turn.
I had Lal, Morgan and Miriam enslaved, and the M & M's wouldn't stop fighting each other. Lal was a most loyal and supportive submissive, and it was a privelege to transcend with him

Ok, that's weird. I KNOW that if you press the submit button several times in an attempt to get Apolyton to respond, you get a multiple post. However, I would've thought it'd require some form of activity from my ISP. Obviously not - according to the little icon in my systray, no data was sent at any of the three presses. And then my connection dropped. As I say, weird.

Ooooh, Chowlett, you want three copies, eh?
- and I'm by no means a master - I play to get fodder to write about
It might be the only time Vel gave up (he'll say it was because the map was too big for his pc, but we know better.....)
(on its way)

Hey! Sorry I've not been in touch a while, guys, but a long distance flight to Beijing can really knock it out of you for a while.
Right, I don't have the zipped file anymore so I'm going to have to ask XGMAN if he'd be kind enough to send it to me again.
Since my email address isn't the same for this computer, it might be best if XGMAN could send the zip file to my Yahoo address, which is
Amazonian_Mage@yahoo.com
And sorry too to Googlie for not responding to your offer. You knew I'd never be able to let this one go by, you scheming food-baiter you. Be so good as to send your zipped file to my Yahoo address (above) and I can assure you that it will be drooled over as decorum requires.
On second thoughts, if Googlie's zip is overly large (and I'll bet I'm not the first girl to say that to you etc) then please send it to Milkysponge@yahoo.com instead. Those damn little Yahoo cubbyholes only hold 6MB at the moment...
Right. Eagerly awaiting your files to clutter up my brother's PC.

Well, it's definitely do-able. I'm two turns from Transcend and the Hive doesn't have a prayer. Now, if only terranx would stop crashing ...

You mean it's excluded from the possible victory conditions? Bummer. Where does it say that/how do you check it?
Mind you ... a military victory would be better and more fun to do. I just thought I'd better transcend before the Hive did it, since they were romping away on tech.

Mis
I have the original game and was a couple turns from transcend when I found out from the game owner that transcend is not possible. I'm at 2431 and eliminated Spartans and Hive is in bad shape, but haven't finished up because it got boring. It is definitely a conquest possibility alot sooner if you know the conditions with the original file.
Anyway good luck, it was fun with the original file being behind a ways.

Ah ok. Thanks for that stuntman. I guess I'll have to go back and restart - I'd do stuff a lot differently going for a conquer victory I just thought maybe there was a way of checking victory conditions in-game that everybody but me knows about. Wouldn't be the first time that I don't know about something really obvious ...
