SMAC won't install in WinXP Pro

Hey all,

I'm trying to get Alpha Centauri to install on a WinXP Pro computer. WinXP can't initiate the unInstaller - problems.

I'm assuming it's one of these Windows updates I downloaded recently because I had it install fine on a fresh Win XP without the updates.

Is there a workaround? Does anyone know which Windows Update might be causing the problem?
