Can 'poly get those spoiler box things?
They are great to use if your post has spoilers of some sort in it.

The only time I can think of for spoilers to regularly be relevant is in comparison games threads, which usually have CONTAINS SPOILERS in the thread title.

In case some of you are too lazy:
"rto13 always was and will always be more effective... Why don't people use it anymore?"

This'd be useful whenever me, Kass, or whoever start talking about our favorite TV show.

I'd like this. It's possible to implement in vbulletin so that you just put tags around whatever you want.

Yeah, rot13 is better because it works with text-only browsers.

It works properly in Opera 7. Though, too bad if you're a non-Windows user (I think there's only a beta for Win right now).
Besides, in this case the blame would be on Opera. Showing highlighted text like other browsers do can't be that difficult.

I requested these things way over 6 months ago. The ones I proposed had the coding:
< table width=80% align=center border="1" cellpadding="2" bordercolor=black>< tr>< td>Spoiler:< /td>< /tr>
< tr>< td bgcolor=black>< font face="verdana" size="2" color="black" >
Insert Text Here
< br />
< /font>< /td>< /tr>< /table>< br />
So that it looks like this:
Spoiler: |
Insert Text Here
|
I was told that people can just skip the text that they didn't want to read, and that we can trust 14 year old boys not to blab the ending of a 4 year old movie, thinking that "it's ancient and everybody's seen it already." Therefore, they weren't implemented. The whole sordid tale can be found here.
I prefer the new tags though - far less intrusive. Thanks Ixnay, Markos!

I was going to post something about smilies apparently not being hidden, but then realised that obviously they wouldn't be. The text is only "hidden" because it is the same color as its background.
