oh BTW Techumseh just noticed this: on loading up, you have "Fanfare for the Common Man" playing, but I noticed that it's the Emerson, Lake and Palmer cover of it because I jsut got some stuff from Works Vol 1. So you're an ELP kind of guy or am I just reading into this too much?
|
Nah, I just googled 'fanfare' and found it. It's good, no?

Can you try reposting it or emailing it to mihaly @ jeszenka.com (omit spaces)

Did you get the e-mail with the save?
BTW, the DL link at Poly works fine; just press 'skip' (top right) to bypass the ad and get to the DL.

Holy Mother of Russia fairline... I just visited your civ2 graphics forum. I'm very tempted to rape your units and make scenarios again!

Thanks - if it's going to get you making scenarios again Mr Crusader, that's got to be a good thing. How about that eastern Eurpoean medieval scenario you were toying with some time ago?

ok I reformatted my computer about half a month ago and I reinstalled ToT and the patch for it. I've done nothign else to it but when I try to open this save, or any of the saves from this game, the game immediately closes down. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Does ToT not work at all, or does it only fail when loading saves from this game? Have you installed the scenario and tried to start up a new game? How about an earlier save from this game (round one)?

yeah, there was an official microprose patch for ToT; never affected anything before.
Anything whether .net or .sav or new games for this scenario the program immediately closes out when I try to start a game. Earler and new saves don't work. Some of my other scenarios don't work like techumseh's Russian Civil War don't work but others like Dictator 2, Battle WW2, and Europe in Flames do work. I also removed my sprites in case that was causing anything.
Any ideas?

What about .net and .sav files for other scenarios?
You can try deleting the scenario and redownloading it, or maybe ToT and reinstall it.

Red October (ToT)
Other scenarios work, some don't as well. Maybe I'll try reinstalling ToT. I'll do that tomorrow, as I'm pretty busy tonight

Are you sure you've installed the correct patch, or the patch correctly? Try again with the download from the Cradle site, here: http://coc.apolyton.net/utilities/index.shtml

Yes, installed the right patch and it still doesn't work. I also uninstalled and reinstalled with the right patch and that again won't do it

Does anyone have a stand in for me for a couple of weeks, or fancy taking over the Parthians themselves? I'll be in Australia from Saturday for a fortnight.

Sorry guys, I'm really at a loss for what's happening with my copy of ToT. I installed the patch, did everything right and yet I get this problem.
