HOTSEAT DIFFICULTY bug

Every time I try playing a HOTSEAT, the game defaults to the CHIEFTAIN difficulty level. I tried starting on the emperor, warlord, and regent difficulty levels, but the game always changes it to the CHIEFTAIN difficulty level (You notice this especially after you try loading a save game).

Has anyone heard of a fix for this problem yet?

No fix yet , happens in PBEM games too.
In pbem it seems to jump to regent though, no idea why.

Should be fixed in the next patch, hopefully
