I believe that it should be edited into the constitution that if there is only one candidate, he automatically makes it.
If no one else wishes to run, then whats the point in asking people if they'll have him in.

the constitution does have a provision for only one person running, and it still calls for an election
Article V. 1g
Quote:
|
If only one candidate is available for an office, a Yes/No poll shall be held to decide if this person may serve in this office. This poll shall expire in five days.

Yes, I fully accept that, but, my point is, what is the need? I mean, unless the person has a terrible track record, no one is going to vote against him unless they are at eachothers guts, or they are an unknown.

The point is that they might indeed have a terrible track record.

I might not agree, that someone is elected into office but don't have the time or the possibility (judges and other ministers) to be a candidate. That's why there has to be a poll, definately!

And what is the problem with voting for oneself?
By the way Wise Ass have you already voted for CTP1/2 in the Top: Game top list thread. If not you should do it and of course anyone else who haven't voted, yet, should do it, too. You can't say something like this too often.

congratulations would normally be in order wiseass since you won, however this entire election may soon be declared unconstitutional.
