Does anyone know who I am?
As a long time Apolyton irregular, I feel the need to make pointless posts every few months. In that spirit and it being festive and all; does anyone here know who I am? Just wondering.

Nevermind. Nice to know everything goes on much as usual here. Politics, philosophy, general bickering... all good clean fun.

Ming is a forgetful type too... but who knows if he will or won't.

Many thanks AH. I hoped someone would remember my good self... time was when I would spent many a long night posting/ranting here...
I've been doing lots of things. Specifically I've travelled some of Oz, SE Asia and Europe and started a degree in Film and Video Production, which is fun. And now I've got a broadband connection at my uni home, so I'm wasting more of my life posting here.
Imran... I am disappointed. I remember you, and I'm sure I've argued with you about something, sometime.
And indeed Ming should remember me. I've bugged him as much as anyone over the years... Ming?

a little research shows:
Graag has been around a long time.
Graag left for ~6 months. i assume a banning because...
Graag didnt like 'Markus' much.
Graag was/is? a Civ2 guy which explains why
Graag is not a familiar face to me
hi Graag!

Interesting JDD... funny what you can find out with the thread tools.
A couple of small corrections
- no ban, just no internet
- I will always be a civ 2 guy.
AH - hows life, civ, apolyton? that sort of stuff.

Life couldn't be better thanks.
The civ2 mp ranks have dwindled somewhat.
What are you up to? Playing any games online?

I recognized the avatar before I did the name. I don't remember anything else though.

Haven't played a decent online game for a looong time... could really go for some decent civ2 mp one of these days... something epic, heroic, exciting. And now I can! (evil laugh)
Still makes me sad that the ranks inevitabley fall, but I'm sure there are some hard-corers who would still give me a decent game. All in good time.
Christmas is a b*tch if you just want to bum around. All that 'togetherness' stuff, human interaction. Pah.

Apoc, hey thats better than nothing. Says something interesting about the role of visual symbols in the human mind too, but thats not important right now.
Tassadar, I'll have you know I am a close personal friend of Ming's. Or at least he'll remember me from the odd Civ2 game. Either way.

Actually I think avatars are detrimental to forum memory. I don't associate catch phrases or certain personality traits since avatars caught on.
With certain people who disregard avatars, like Jon Miller, I remember his catch phrase (Jon Miller) very easily. I can remember personalities of old people like The Director General and Thomas A Stobie fairly well since I had no avatar to base anything on.
Anyway, did you call me Apoc because you remember other people calling me that or was it just something that made sense?

Yet more interesting are your musings on the role of the visual symbol in memory. I suppose people's avatars change often, unlike a name which is a visual symbol but is fixed and static. I imagine you don't remember be because I never posted that much on off-topic. And have been generally random in my postings for the past couple of years.
Anyway, in answer to your query, um.. both. Now that I think about it, you seem familiar, but I think it just made sense at the time. Apoc -> Apocalypse... seems natural.

I'm not that much of an off-topic person. Up until a year ago I had been lurking in various forums though, even in the Civ2 ones.

Apoc, I've been largely inactive the past year or two, so you are forgiven your ignorance of my good self.
H Tower, thanks for the input. Always good to know someone doesn't know you.

Actually I remember Graag. I think the last time I saw you was in the OTF. At least I remember your funky monkey avatar.
Anyway, merry Christmas to you.
