Judges for Apolyton Region
The court will be primarily a mediator, in that if 2 nations wish to resolve a dispute, but will also act if there has been a transgretion by one nation, when, although it will not have direct power, it will give its recommendation to both nations and to the UN. No one will be forced to abide by the ruling, unless they have agreed to take part in the mediation at the start.
The court will have 3 justices, with one needed for each trial. If you wish to stand, please state your nation in this thread. Since Centralis has alread asked, I nominate Centralis and Akiria (myself).
Judges Standing
Drogue - Akiria
GeneralTacticus - Centralis
Tassadar500 - Sovietskii Soyuz
reismark - Alien Races
redbull - Pasiphae
H Tower - Zoran
red_jon - Redfern
Rasbelin - Suomi
You have until 8pm GMT 27 December to decide to run. At that time I will post the Election poll.

You can either wait until I post the poll tomorrow morning for judges, which will last 3 days. And then one of the elected judges will hear it. Or, you can agree with the other party for mediation and both agree on who you wish to hear it, and do it as a private matter. The court should be in session by the 1st Janurary, and will be reelected each month if that is ok?

Additionally, the Prime Minister proposes that all three judges hear all trials. In all honesty, I fear that the matters that will be presented before the court will be too numerous, heavy and complicated for one mind to sort through, alone.

Seconding reis. A 2-1 vote is a helluva lot better than a single persons opinion.

True, but then we might need 5 judges, in case 1 or 2 are away and so cannot hear the case.

No reason, I think it's a good idea.

We like the proposal of Centralis! A majority of the available judges is sufficient.

Yes. So should there be: 3 per trial, or at least 3 per trial (ie. 3-5)?
I'd go for 3 always, we need a odd number, and consistancy.

It seems the rule of law has a firm grip on the region of Apolyton. I'm glad that we are all interested in preserving the juditiary legitimacy of a sovereign nation's rights.
I am confident that the matter I bring to court on the 1st of jan will be dealt with professionalism and uniformity.

Rotating Chair.
i.e: Judge1 = Mr. V
Judge2 = Mr W
Judge3 = Mr X
Judge4 = Mr Y
Judge5 = Mr Z
Case 1: V, W, X
Case 2: W, X, Y,
Case 3: X, Y, Z
Case 4: Y, Z, V
And on and on and on. You get the picture. If one of the three is unavailable, the next in line is chosen (e.g. for Case 1, if anyone is unavailable, he/she will be replaced with Mr. Y, and so on and so forth)

i think 5 are the minimum needed, with a panel of 3 for each case. just because a judge may be part of a dispute.
Zoran also wishes to offer her services towards furthering peace in our region

After thinking it over during the night, I have decided that I will allow Akiria to mediate the dispute between Ubinia and the FIR.
I want to make it clear that I am not backing down, though, and in addition to supplying the FIR's activists with throwing stones, I will be passing an edict shortly to ban meat-eating in Ubinia to show that we will not tolerate these evil corporations exploiting the land and manipulating the people.

The Honourable Leader of Ubinia: Do you wish to wait for the court to be in session, and have a formal mediation? Or do you wish to do it privately, with both Ubinia and F.I.R. choosing and agreeing upon a nation to hear it?
