Freight Bonus
In a recent solo game I had a delivery bonus of 1044. This made me wonder how big is the largest possible bonus? Has anyone ever got the largest possible bonus? If not, what is the largest delivery bonus you have received?

If you have a game where the AI creates a large, many arrowed city, far away on another continent, you can get some huge bonuses from your SSC delivering oil. Gift them Auto if they don't demand oil.
Delivering to your own large developed cities off continent can pay over 2000G, regularly. I seem to remember getting over 3000G, on occasion.
And as many beakers, as well!! Trade is the key to victory.

The big one-off bonuses are not that important. (1044g is great but sets no record) The vital part about trade is to have good logistics which can bring in enough beakers to give a new advance every turn. With a smart scientific empire trade will assist two advances (or on occasions) three techs per turn.

The big bonuses ARE helpful... obviously if you have found a nice big Rep/Demo AI city with a repeating commodity, it simplifies your trading stategy. I agree that getting an advance every turn is ideal... but bigger bonuses will mean that it only takes 3-4 caravans/freight to achieve this end, rather than 7-10. But the key is having your delivery system in place (shipchain!).
And I seem to recall playing on a giga earth map, sending freight from Australia to nice big Babylonians cities in S. America... and getting 2000-3000+ on occasion.

IIRC the biggest possible bonus has been calculated by Xin Yu about 2 years ago.
You need Uranium as a commodity and 2 huge cities of different nationalities on 2 different continents, as far away from each other as possible: you can get well over 4000g
(but no one but Shade would try that )

My personal record is about 2700 Gold (oil). I usually build superhighways in all my cities and airports in some of them.
I send freights via "air mail" to my cities on other islands and continents.
With a great empire, you can make 30.000G and more a turn.
In one of my games I made more than 70.000G a turn - I needed no more taxes.
