The Holy Empire of Actors Paradise is a very large, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 196 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Social Welfare are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 68%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.
Billions of blockbusters are being poured into a space program, all guns must be registered, the nation has an international reputation for compassion, and children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life. Crime is relatively low. Actors Paradise's national animal is the ferret, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the blockbuster.
