Should I upgrade to Opera 7?
Right now, I'm running Opera 6.05. There's a beta of version 7 out, but I've heard some negative stuff about it. Should I upgrade, or stick with 6.05?

I've used Beta 2 for some time now and I like it. Only problem I've encountered thus far is the lack of skins but that'll improve over time. The password manager does seem a bit buggy and has crashed the browser once, but nothing else. Beta 1 had some trouble with the download manager too but Beta 2 seems to work fine.

I'm sticking with 6.05 until they get Hebrew in 7.

I found getting Bookmarks sorted into the order I want was a pain in the butt; maybe I'm missing something. Overall it seems very good, but I didn't see anything (yet) that made it compelling.

I'm waiting for the final release of Opera 7.0 before getting it.
I am content with 6.05 right now, so I'm not going to bother to upgrade for the time being.

I downloaded 6.05 today and I absolutely love it.
I've only been using mouse gestures for a couple of hours and already feel there is no way I could go back.
Mark down another convert.

wait for the final release. I'm using 7 and it has bugs like crazy.. but it's only beta release, I like it very much, I just wish it was more stable. Wait for the final release.

fewer pop-ups is a good advantage. Plus they'll open in the background and won't disrupt your surfing.
Mouse gestures are so simple and intuitive - I wouldn't go back now.
Try downloading Opera 6.05. It's a small file and it's free - it can't hurt to try it.

Well I'm running it now... seems pretty sweet.
Do you people use keybaord shortcuts much?
This mouse gestures thing seems intereting too.

one more thing, Opera has URL filtering. That means you can get your pages to load without the on-page ads (not popups). I used that in opera 6.03, worked like a charm.
I have 6.05 now, but didnt get to configuring that yet.
what are mouse gestures for? do they speed anything up?

Nah, I just use CTRL+N and ENTER. Some people swear by F12, but I always identify as Opera myself for political reasons. Opera brings the joy back into mousing.
There are also the everyday shortcuts of CTRL+F, F3, CTRL+C, CTRL+V, CTRL+X, CTRL+A.

Right-click-drag-left = back
Right-click-drag-right = forward
Right-click-drag-down = new page
Opera's navigation behaviour is also far superior to that of MSIE and Mozilla; you'll never get a page about content having expired, POST operation being too old, or you needing to reload while backing and forwarding.

Other mouse gestures:
Right-click(on a link) drag-down - open link in new window (foreground)
Right-click drag-down-up - open link in new window (background)
Right-click drag-down-left - minimize window
Right-click drag-down-right - close window

this was a big reason for me to switch to opera. why IE needed to reload half of pages on simple 'back' command was beyond me
I m playing with mouse gestures now... cool!

I still feel that mouse gestures are the spawn of the devil himself!
Or that just may be because I associate gestures with Black and White.
/me plans on trying to download opera again...
(The download died last time)

I have been using Opera 7 since almost as soon as it came out with no problems.
Thanks all for the mouse functions, I hadn't used them much until now.

*accidentaly closes opera with mouse gesture*
You can edit that mouse gesture out in the Opera 7.10 Preferences panel.
