Lots of Lithuanian and Russian rivalry here. Rather interesting.
I say that all the baltic states should grateful for the noble USSR liberating them from the grim spectre of Finnish tyranny.

Liberated from Fininsh tyranny? WTF? I bank at Nordea, make fixed line calls via LTEL, owned by TeliaSonera, and mobile calls via Omnitel (Also owned TeliaSonera), refuel my bimmer at Neste gas stations and have travel insurance from Seesam (subsidiary of Pohjola).

Liberated?

Didn't Telia buy Sonera (hence "TeliaSonera")? And if I remember correctly, Nordea is mainly Swedish too. Of course, we will graciously hand them both over to USSR-2, whenever it emerges, to do our part in liberating you from the evil Finns

Saras, I pity you, you got the real criminals robbing you . I mean... you just listed every crooked and bad company! Haha, tough luck!

'TeliaSonera' will die soon. Sonera is full of spies and criminals, Telia full of Swedes .
Though I think monkspider was only joking, I can't see any scenario that we would have had the urge or need to try to invade in any of the baltic countries.. no sir, not gonna happen.

Statoil is ~1 Eurocent more expensive. I use the Neste no frills automatic card station that's on my way home from work.

And yes, I do shop at Rimi Though it's more dutch than norwegian, I guess

Do y'all still have those Chernobyl style reactors operating in the Baltics?

Lithuania, to be exact. And it's liteyears away from what Chernobyl is in terms of safety, but we're closing it just in case and 'cause we have nervous neighbors

I did a big profile US exercise in the 90's where we practiced what we would do if that reactor blew up and we had to come in and provide humanitarian assistance. Forget what it is called. Ig...

We had some Lithuanian army visitors. Carefully screened away. Not to bright or good smelling (sorry). Hope the I-bankers are more hip.
