exchange of tecs and luxuries?
I was trying to exchange with the Indians the Atomic Theory , they ask me for it 190g and combustion... As you see in the picture, at the bottom of it, they were glad with that exchange...
But I offer also Dyes and Spices because I had excess of them and I was pretending more tecs from them ... but if I add those tow luxuries to the 190g y combustion they don't accept it...??????
Came someone knows what is happening?
thanks

They don't want to enter a "per turn" deal with you. If you broke a deal with someone else and have a bad rep, that is most likely the reason. Of course it makes no sense, even if you broke the deal after a few turns they still got luxuries for a few turns that they otherwise wouldn't have had. But sometimes the AI just determines not to have a per turn deal of any sort.
In my last game, Joan rushed troops to my (Celtic) border and demanded a luxury for continued peace. My units were out of position and I knew a couple towns would fall so I gave in. 4/5 turns later, after getting my boys up to the inevitable battlefront I attempted to renegotiate peace - a straight peace for peace deal. Well Joan rebuffed me and we went to war.
Because of this no one else would enter per turn deals with me. It didn't matter how lopsided I made them, all I heard back was "we remember what you did to poor Joan". Poor Joan my arse, she was trying to rob me right in front of my face. The other AIs should understand, that was a matter of dignity not breaking a deal.

Poor Carver...
I have had things like that happen to me, but I never give in unless its just some gold or a map. Then I gang up on them.

Yeah, Carver said it. If you have broken any deals they won't agree to a per turn deal in return for a direct deal no matter what. In other words, you can buy techs with other techs and money (lump sum), but buy luxuries (20 turn deal) with other luxuries or per turn payments.

The AI will never refuse cash on the barrelhead, but if you have ever defaulted on a credit deal (paid per turn for something upfront and had the deal broken before it expired......regardless of wether or not it was your fault the AI will never extend you credit again.

It annoys me how you're always in the wrong on broken deals.
'We remember what you did to the poor Nazis' and such.
After a while I just decide to burn down cities if they won't trade. If you're considered an evil SOB, be one.

I think everyone is missing the point here. There was no per turn deal here, he just added a couple of resources to a deal that was already acceptable. Yet they turned it down. I've come across this myself and it doesn't make any sense.
In my last game I tried adding a luxury I had lots of to a deal that another civ found acceptable. I was looking for brownie points hoping to improve our relations. Lo and behold, even though they liked the original offer, as soon as I added a "gift" to the deal they wanted nothing to do with it. Go figure!

Resources ARE "per turn" deals.

this is part of what the gives the game the single player feel. you don't feel as one of many civs, but more of everything is revolving around you... or at least me...
