Top Games of 2001/2002
Vote here for your top 10 games from the 2001/2002 period.
You can vote for any pc or console games that were released during this period. Votes for officially-released expansion packs are also allowed, provided they were released during 2001/2002. Otherwise there wouldn't be enough games to make a meaningful list with. Mods and other add-ons are not counted seperately, but may be mentioned for general interest purposes.
Speaking of points, you have 100 to play with in this round. You can allocate them to the games of your choice any way you wish, so long as no game gets more than 20 points, or less than 1. You can nominate a maximum of 20 different titles, no minimum. If no points information is given, the following default values are used:
1. 20 points.
2. 18 points.
3. 16 points.
4. 13 points.
5. 10 points.
6. 8 points.
7. 6 points.
8. 4 points.
9. 3 points.
10. 2 points.
The updated list will be on the last page of this thread.

GTA 3 - 20 points
Vice City - 20 points
Civ 3 - 10
Warcraft 3 - 10
Age of Mythology - 20
Pro Evolution Soccer 2 - 20 (I'd give it 100 if I could. )

1 - Space Empires 4 Gold 30
2 - Age of Wonders 2 25
3 - Shogun: Total War Warlord Edition 20
4 - Combat Mission 10
5 - Europa Universalis 2 10
6 - Divided Ground 5
Turn based strategy games are increasingly rare now as are real strategy games... I really can't find 10 games to vote for.

Rules clarification:
How does the expansion pack votes counting towards the original game work with GTA3-Vice City?
It's really just an expansion of the first game, but is full price and owning the original game is not required to play it.
I assume GTA3 and Vice City count as two seperate games?

You can't vote a game higher than 20 points.

Hmm. I realize the original post said "PC or console" but being that NOBODY else has voted for a console game, I think I'll only list PC games for the moment. And it's depressing how few of them I've played.
I'll modify my list of others want to vote for console games as well so there's more than my votes languishing at the bottom.
AOW2
WarCraft3
Diablo 2
EU
Grandia II (actually did come out for PC, you know)
Being that that's only 5, I guess that's 20 for each. Although I suppose I could stick BF1942 up there, being that I played it in the lab... nah.

AFAIR I had that game in <1999, but I might be mistaking (Don't have it anymore, so I can't take a look...)
Here's my votings:
1. The Settlers IV (20 points)
2. Civilization III (20 points)
3. Freedom Force (16 points)
4. Worms World Party (14 points)
5. Serious Sam 2 (10 points)
6. Soldier of Fortune II (6 points)
7. Grand Theft Auto III (6 points)
8. RollerCoaster Tycoon II (5 points)
9. Warcraft III (3 points)
There wasn't enough good titles those years to vote for 10 titles.
Btw, wouldn't it be about time, to get the old one un-topped, and this one topped?

BustaMike has 65 more points to spend.
loinburger has 14 more points to spend. (non-pc games are fine)
Alva has 15 more points to spend.
Regarding the other (topped) version of this thread, I have already contacted the admin to untop it and to top this one. As soon as they have some spare time, it should be done.
/me is amused that the list fits inside one page.

1. Morrowind - 20.
2. GTA III - 20.
3. Deus Ex - 20.
4. Metal Gear Solid II: Sons of Liberty - 20. (I'm pretty sure that this one was released in the correct time frame, if not, then my vote is retracted. Also, if you only want PC games, then my vote is retracted.)
5. Return to Castle Wolfenstein - 3.
6. Timesplitters II - 3. (Timesplitters II + Copious amounts of alcohol - 5,000.)
And, IIRC, those are all of the games that I played in 2001/2002 (that were first released in 2001/2002). What the hell am I doing on a gaming forum, anyway???

Hmm... I've heard the opposite... but well... I haven't played it either, but never got into Commandos (But you might want to try out Desperados or Robin Hood... they're the same type of strategy, but in a much better time, than this WW2 time )

FP: Cheeky.
ADG: I must have missed the "2" at the end of your Serious Sam 2 vote. Fixed.

Ah yep... well I take these as a single game, so the expansion was out recently, anyway .
Hey, I would also vote for Doom 2 .

I think that Serious Sam II should be considered an expansion pack for the purposes of this poll.

Solvers vote for AOE2 has been removed. AOE2 was released in 1999, The Conquerors expansion in 2000, so neither are valid. Doom 2 was released well before 2001 as well.
So Solver has an additional 27 points to play with.
St Leo, expansion packs are allowed in this poll anyway.
