[SIZE=1]Signing the peace treaty with Russia while still in an alliance with Germany was a mistake, but hopefully everything will turn out well. I tried to patch up relations with Germany and Russia.
|
Well, it was a good peace deal with Russia, it was hard to pass up. Besides, once we destroy Germany, it doesn't matter how mad Bismarck is.

I think I'll be skipping my turn this round.
Because of school, I haven't had much free time recently, and the free time I do have is being devoted to a new computer game.
So just skip me, I'll play my next round.
It's now chairmanmeow's turn.

130 BC - Meow II becomes Chairman upon the death of Meow the Scaredycat. Production in Giovanni Vinorum is changed to Galley, so the Celts can explore the seas (or at least the coast)
110 BC - Not much happening.
90 BC - Meow II starts his reputation of sneakiness by positioning horsemen around weak points in the Russian defense.
70 BC - Civil Disorder erupts in Alesia. Meow II puts one of the citizens on the Clown Patrol.
50 BC - Meow decides to be a real jerk, and attacks Russia.
30 BC - The initial attack against Smolensk is routed.
10 BC - More horsemen were built, and started their journey out to the Russian front.
10 AD - Sevastopol falls to the Russians.
30 AD - Code of Laws is finished. Research is started on Philosophy.
50 AD - Civil Disorder strikes Richborough and TrickeyVille. The clown patrol gets two more members.
70 AD - Nothing much.
90 AD - Another attack on Russia is defeated.
110 AD - Realizing that all he's doing is killing his horsemen, Meow II decides it's time to negotiate. Meow II demands Monarchy, from the Russians. In return, the least they were willing to accept was Code of Laws, Literature, and 85 gold. Meow II informs Catherine that that deal will not be acceptable. "Look at my horsemen, aren't they cute?"
130 AD - Philosophy is finsihed, and research is begun on Mathematics.
150 AD - The horsemen win a battle at Yakutsk and become elite.
170 AD - Nothing much.
190 AD - Catherine asks for peace, but she wants Literature. There are 26 turns remaining on Great Library, so Meow II rejects her offer.
210 AD - Smolensk is captured and burnt to the ground. A peace deal is signed with Russia. The Celts will receive Monarchy, and in return gives the Russians 200 gold.
Confident in his reputation as a butcherer, Meow II retires, and is stabbed to death by a random citizen of TrickeyVille.

Here we go...
420AD
- Mellian, out of nowhere, appears and ceases power over the Celts, being the first Celt Queen.
- Entremont builds a Spearman and starts working on another one.
440AD
- The Galley accidently went to far from the coast and ended being lost. Some people consider it a bad omen and Mellian was like, whatever, we'll build another one.
- Richborough builds a Library and starts working on a Worker.
- Russians complain for violating their territory, and Mellian just gave them the finger, making them even more Furious. (moving a spearman back to home territory)
- Civil Disorder at Gergovia, and Mellian gets assigns some people to be Entertainers in response.
- Barbarians Encampment south-east of Giovanni Vinorium as finally been taken out.
450AD
- Entremont builds another Spearman, and then starts producing wealth to stop the deficit on the treasury.
- The Gergovia Disorder ends after a starvation.
460AD
- Construction discovered and the scholars starts researching Currency, whatever that it.
- Alesia builds a Worker and starts working on a Spearman.
- Civil Disorder at Richborough, Mellian yet again assigns Entertainers in response.
- Germans builds the Great Lighthouse
470AD
- The Richborough Disorder ends and finishs working on a Worker. They started production on a Settler afterwards.
- Gergovia builds a Horseman and starts working on a Spearman.
480AD
- Mellian renames the sole Elite Horseman to the Amazon Riders, declaring her personal unit. After questioning some of the Riders, scholars discovered that Mellian originally lead them. (I love the renaming unit feature)
490AD
- Girl's Only is founded where the Barbarian Camp was.
- More Barbarians are spotted by the Amazon Riders south-west of Girl's Only.
- The Great Library is finally built at Lugdunum, and then proceeded to working on another Galley to replace the last one.
500AD
- Mellian makes a huge budget change: 0% for Research, 10% for Luxuries and 90% into the Economy.
Mellian also realized, if Currency doesn't exist yet, then why do we have gold?
- The people at Entremont loved Mellian so much that decided to expand the Palace. She was heard commenting that they rather expand her wardrobe then the ugly Palace, oh well.
510AD
- Mellian calls for revolution, bringing the Celt nation into Anarchy. She wonders, if Anarchy means no Government, then why i'm I still incharge, hmm?
-Civil Disorders at Richborough, Trickeyville, Lugdunum abd Gergovia.
520AD
- Monarchy as been established.
- Order is restored all over the Celt Nation. Mellian is heard saying that she didn't realize the Celts were religious...that or people just smarten up, realizing that Monarchy is no big difference from Despotism (opinionated is she not?)
- Gemmonia builds a Spearman and starts working on building Barracks.
530AD
- Mellian orders some Horsemans to block the Russians Settlers and escorts from entering Celt territory.
- Richborough finished working on a Settler and proceeds on building an Horseman.
540AD
- Russians complain yet again for intruding into their territory. Catherine really doesn't like Mellian.
- Republic mastered from the Germans and Russians via the Great Library.
- Lugdunum completes the Galley and starts working on Barracks. Mellian orders the Galley on a quest to find the other civilizations, else, how the heck would they know if the built any Wonders?
- Gergovia builds a Spearman and start working on a Library.
- Zulus completes the Great Lighthouse...wait ta minute, didn't the Germans already done that?
- Ottoman completes the Sun-Tzu's Art of War. Wow!
550AD
- Entremont stars working on a Horseman
- Alesia finishes building a Spearman and starts working on a Horseman.
- Trickeyville finally completes the Library and starts working on Barracks
560AD
-Lugdunum finishes contructing the Barracks and proceeds to work on a Library (for Culture and something to fall back on when we hit Education)
580AD
- Entremont builds a Horseman and starts working on another. (building up a offensive force so we can invade Russia later)
- Civil Disorder at Trickeyville
- Richborough completes a Horseman and starts working on another one.
590AD
- Mellian finally assigns some Entertainers a Trickeyville.
600AD
- Trickeyville disorder ends after a starvation. Mellian was like, thats it, i'm gone... She retires and re-joins the Amazon Riders on a final attack on another Barbarian Encampment south-west of Girl's Only. Afterwards, Mellian couldn't be found and people assumed she died in battle, honorably.

Sorry this took a while, things have been busy...
The Celtic Empire 610 - 800
In AD 610, King Jonny III came to power. He rode into the city of Entremont towards the palace in the magnificent Royal Chariot. However, the chariot's wheel broke, and he had to walk the last 2 miles to the palace.
The first things he did were: institute a new policy of getting at least 2 defenders in each city as soon as possible, starts putting commerce towards science, and bought Germany's World Map for 26 gold, which revealed some islands to the north of Germany.
In 620, Jonny ordered the many horsemen units to be fortified on the Russian border.
In 630, Russia enters our territory, we ask them to leave.
In 640, they don't leave. We ask them again to leave, and they declares war. They apparently didn't see all the horsemen. Our horsemen during that turn captured 7 Russian workers, captured the city of Rostov, and burnt Riga to the ground.
In 650, King Jonny III builds the city of Jonnyopolis on the penninsula SW of Girls Only.
During 660 and 670 and 680, our horsemen prepare for an attack on the city of Yakutsk, and surround the city.
In 690, Yakutsk falls to our horsemen. We sign a peace treaty with Russia, gaining 5 gold, their world map, and the city of Sevastopol in the process. Also, the city of Deseret is built to the north of Agedincum.
In 700 and 710, not much happens. Horsemen are fortified in the newly captured cities and border cities, and the captured workers (and our old workers also) improve the terrain.
In 720, our scientists discover Currency. We enter the Middle Ages, and the scientists start work on Engineering.
In 730, a German archer/settler stack is seen near Yakutsk.
In 740, the city of Port Jonny is founded at the former site of Riga.
In 750, the German archer/settler stack heads away.
In 760, spearmen are rushed in the northern border cities in order to help defend our new cities.
770- nothing happened.
In 780 - the German archer/settler stack comes back.
In 790 nothing happens.
In 800, the Germans enter our territory. We ask them to leave. Sadly, King Jonny III dies when he gets run over by an elephant for no apparent reason.
Will the Germans declare war, or just leave our territory? Russia is weak - will they regain their power, or will they eventually crumble? Find out next time!
Hints for the next player:
We still have no iron. This means we can't build pikemen, knights, or medieval infantry. We need to get Gunpowder as soon as possible, so we can get some good defensive units.

Here's what happened (I skipped a few turns toward the end, when I was really into the war and forgot to write about what was happening):
800 AD - Upon the death of Jonny III, Meow III becomes Chairman of the Celts.
810 AD - Meow III tries to ensure peace between the Celts and Germany by raising Germany's attitude of the Celts before asking his people to get the h*ll out, so he proposes a trade: the Celts give Currency to the Germans, and in return they give 5 gpt, 50 gold lump sum, and their world map. Bismarck decides to be a jackass and declare war anyway. So war it is... Meow III has learned the same lesson as Neville Chamberlain: Don't try to appease Germany. The archer/settler stack is easily destroyed, and the settler enslaved.
820 AD - Nothing much
830 AD - Russia is acting as a buffer zone in the war, since neither the Germans nor the Celts are able to pass through without causing Russia to declare war.
840 AD - Nothing much.
850 AD - War breaks out between the Celts and Russia when the Russians sink our Galley. The horsemen are cute, aren't they. Meow III feels so much like Meow II.
860 AD - A regular horseman unit wins a battle at Moscow and becomes Veteran.
870 AD - Novgorod is captured and burnt to the ground. In celebration, Meow III renames Yakutsk after his cat, calling it "Meow III Kitty City". Meow III cancels his vacation in TrickeyVille.
880 AD - The Horsemen in Russia have spotted Germans in Russian territory, possibly indicating an alliance between Germany and Russia.
890 AD - A peace treaty is signed with Germany.
900 AD - An irrigation line is begun, with Deseret as its goal. Meow III decides to change the national budget, increasing the science rate to 70%
910 AD - Engineering is completed and Feudalism is begun, with the goal of Gunpowder. Meow III finds out it's difficult to wage war when Winamp is playing "Where have all the flowers gone."
940 AD - Grozny gets it, just like Sevastopol, but the evil Russians capture Meow III Kitty City.
950 AD - The palace is expanded. Meow III would rather have had them expand his military...
970 AD - Meow III Kitty City is finally retaken from the Russians. After Kitty City goes back to Celt control, a peace treaty is signed. Meow III decides to resign as Chairman to enjoy his retirement in Girls Only. But apparently the girls in Girls Only don't like him being there, so they kill him.

970: Giovanni Wine III rise to power in the Celtic Kingdom, findging himslf at the lead of a strong and well developed nation.
His first priorities are: Gunpowder, so to be able to create better defenders than the Spearmen, and Astronomy, so to be able to reach far away continents, and meet with other nations.
980: The rebellion in Richborough have ceased after that King Giovanni decided to allow more clowns to run throught the city streets, while our Horseman quells the resistance in Meow III Kitty City
990: Russian Spearmen and a Russian Settlers are forced to withdraw from our territories, The Russians excuses themselves with the Celtic Horseman and retire at once.
1000: Persepolis built the Sistene Chapel, while a Yellow galle have been spotted in the vicinity of Port Jonny, and emissary is sent there to find more about those Yellow peoples, he discovers that those men call themselves the ZULU, and their leader is Shaka, with a long trade comunications King Giovanni manages to have comunication with all those countries plus some territory maps, without giving up the comunications with the Germans which seems everybody wanted, it is strange to see that everybody is actually enraged or cautios toward us.
1010: Our recents contacts with all those new people gave us a big Scientific boost, as we learned, Theology, Chivalry, Invention, Gunpowder and Education from all them in the Great Library... but unfortunatly after this a big fire destroyed most of the books of the GL, leaving this great building absolutly uneffective forever.
Theology is offered to both Russian and Germans, so that we can get some money from that, while Gunpowder is offered to Babylon in exchange of Gold and a Map, revealing a completely new and unknown world to us. A source of Saltpepper is discovered near Agendicum, but unfrtunatly it is outside our national boundary, and another one near Meow II’s Kitty City
1020: Nothing much
1030: We build an embassy in Istambul, as the Ottomans are believed the strongest civ in the other continent.
1040-1070: Nothing
1080: Our cash is running low, King Giovanni orders a new plan so that we can have more money.
1090-1110: Nothing
1120: Astronomy is discovered, Entremont enters the race to buil the Copernicus Observatory with Arbela (Persia) and Babylon
1130: Our first Musketman is produced in Richborough
1140: Nothing
1150: The Celtic Maginot Line on our border with Russia is completed, a long line of Horseman is now protecting our border with Russia, Barracks are almost completed in Sevastopol and Deseret so that we can easily upgrade them to Knights or Cavalry
1160: Nothing
1170: King Giovanni Wine III dies while visiting Sevastopol, the city is renamed in Port Wine as to remember him.
