Naw, there'll be planty left by the time you are picking for me. Those useless Egyptians for example will still probably be left on the table.

You could always mod the game so that each of you plays the English.

My turn to choose, I suppose.
I give CerberusIV the Spanish to play.
(If he is lucky, he starts right next to Tiberius. )

.... the Russians. (just gotta love that UU...)
The game has a certain European flavour so far.
Next!

Now, this was really naughty. Haven't you noticed where I come from!? Playing Russians, having to call them "my (beloved!?!) Russians", is definitely the most disgusting thing you could have forced me to...
Ok, my turn now, right?
Hot_Enamel, you will hate me forever, as I give thee... the Koreans!
The tension shall hang in the air for some time now, as Tibi will be back online in a couple of days only... at least I think so.
Jesus, playing Russians! Heresy!
I seriously consider playing for a humiliating defeat with them...

Vondrack - sorry - that didn't occur to me at all.
For the sake of out-of-game comraderie, if it is a problem, I can choose another civ. My second and third worst choices did not involve the Koreans, so it would not affect your choice. Let me know.
I did not mean to offend you. It was simply based on my experience with the game and some research I did.

BH, I was just kidding, absolutely no offense taken, really! No problem with Russians at all, I was merely making fun of myself. We do have memories, you know...
I can't wait to start shuffling my free scout around.

Splendid !
That is what I wanted to see !
Even better than asking someone from the USA to play the French.
Or someone from Holland to play the Germans.
Or ...

This is going well! Betahound should be relieved as I was going to give him the Russians! Still - Greeks, Indians, Mongols... There are a quite a few mediocre and poor civs left for Flandrien and Betahound.
EDIT; I've never actually played as the Spanish so to keep in the spirit of things I shan't practice before the game starts.

Spirit of things actually IS getting to know the 'lesser' civs.
So start practicing, Cerberus !

To say nothing of the Egyptians, Iroquois, and Aztecs.

hey I like the aztecs now. Although if that thing about war weariness is true religious probably isn't that great in multiplayer.

There is a rumor that Fraxis felt that humans would like to wage war against each other in mulitplayer more so than in single player against AI.
Therefore they removed war weariness from PTW mulitplayer.
Religeous civs can switch govts easily to avoid war weariness...so therefore religious civs lose one of their main benefits.
Its a rumor only...perhaps its true ? who knows ? I am yet to even have a war using multiplayer.
Perhaps it's just a bug and not intentional ?

I always have.
I was being sarcastic. I would gladly take any of those three.
Interesting about the religious and war weariness thing.
How do we find out - can't someone just write Firaxis and ask?

I have yet to wage a late war in multiplayer. I have in despotism. We'll see I guess.

Even if no WW everyone will still need to change government twice, once to monarchy/republic and once to democracy so religious will still save a few turns of anarchy.
Attacking another civ whilst it is in anarchy can be a useful tactic against non-religious civs. I would think that human players in MP will be stuck in anarchy longer than AI civs in SP.

one thing I hate about non-religious civs. I don't use them often.
How long does the anarchy last? The one time I played one the anarchy seemed to last forever . I hated that. This shows how unfamiliar I am with non-religious civs . I love my reliogus/miltaristic civs.

Tiberius came back home just few hours ago after being AFK for several days. I have already talked to him - he will be making his pick very shortly. Just give him few more hours, he is currently at work and cannot spend much time on Poly...

I know what I have decided for Betahound and have first and second choices ready depending on what Tiberius picks for Flandrien.
