probably not the best person to give advice as I can't get it to work either, but I did read another thread that mentioned if you have the US version of the latest patch and are launching the game using the european version it gives the no CD in drive/insert CD error message.
Have a look at the other threads about Euro version.
hope you have some luck getting it to work - my mouse cursor freezes when I go into multiplayer mode, I can see everyone else chatting and launching games but cant do anything about it?
