Apolymuria is good, but next time you should do a vote about the city style. Roman style looks just too defaulty.

We have enough of it You wont get from me for sure.
Sorry Martin and all, I even made a condensed picture with all CM2 city styles to make the poll you wanted but the DG was already becaming a quite place and I though most of the people already wanted to started the game the sooner possible.
So i stated in a thread that i was going to start with this style. No body was against so i chose. I hope nobody gets too mad I really felt bad to have to chose without a poll and i still do! But i chose for the best! Sorry all again!

Funny, Although we have cities named after some character of the religion (I could name Athens, Apolytonia, hundreds of cities after catholic saints, etc..) i thought the people would claim for Lemuria in comparison to cartague, babylonia, rome. That used to have the same name for the civilization and the capital.
If the people dont change their vote or a good number of people vote against seems like Apolymuria will be the name after all.

The storefront invasion! You could find classic shops such as JohnT's library, ASTEX and coffee shop. Then all the stores were closed down, and since the Coffee Shop is the only store allowed in the OTF.
Ras tried to open MarkDanOlds in October, but Ming closed it because of the storefront invasion. Only DinoDoc can open the Coffee Shop in the OTF.
I can't remember who coined Apolytown, but that was the name given to the Store-front invasion (like G-Spot and Area 19)

Seriously, these Apo- and Lemur- names are just plain cheese. Go with something completely different and cool-sounding. Or a city from fiction. Gondolin, Xanadu, Teflon.

Like I said, almost anything
Seriously though, I tend to agree, we should come up with a decent name. Cheesy tends to get old quickly.
Hmmm, how about Giannopolis?
H Tower,
It's not that big a part of Apolyton history and I think that the people who were actually there at the time (redbull certainly wasn't, unless it was under a different username) would not consider the name Apolytown all that 'sacred' (I know I don't). Especially not if it's used in a context where only 2 or 3 people ever even heard of it's original use...

I did vote for the origonal but on reflection i could go for either Lemurcak/Lemurkakton or Apolycak or any variation. Maybe Poolemur?(pronounced 'Pool - emur')

Well, with CoT's vote change that would make it 7 all. I think we should at least consider other options and we can always have a vote for the most popular ones, where Apolymuria is one of the options...
For alternatives, how about El Dorado? ("a city or country of fabulous riches held by 16th century explorers to exist in So. America", Webster) Not entirely inappropriate, with Pedrunn as president and all...

Some more alternatives to consider (some real, some fictional; my personal favourites in bold): Camelot, Timbuctu, Walhalla, Babylon, Angkor Wat, Paititi (Incan name for El Dorado), Caral, This, Dwaraka, Kishkindha (a mythical city from the Ramayana which was ruled by a monkey king).

What about Acropolis? Greek meaning, "city at the top". It isnt on a mountain but it is "on the top" in some sense. Its more a central defensive position inside a city, but it makes a good city name all the same too...
I like Camelot too.

Camelot, Kishkindha, El Dorado all sound good to me.

Why not have a naming system like the Civ3 DG one, where the citizens take it in turn to name the cities?

For the other cities I agree that that would be a good system, but for the capital I think we should all decide, with a vote.
How about using the point system again, as we did with the flags? Everyone gets 100 points (or whatever) to give to some of these 24 suggestions (plus maybe a few extra if others have more ideas) and the name that gets the most points wins. If two names (or more, especially if they're very similar) are close, we could have a run-off poll.
