I live in Felixstowe. Kinda boring town in Suffolk, England. Dominated by pensioners and Daily Mail readers, slowly gaining some style as people move here and commute to London. The old parts of town were built by the Victorians with the newer parts being standard mid-late twentith century style (ie, nothing noticable about them). The one noticable thing about the town is that it's the biggest container port in the UK, which prevents it from sliding into a downward spiral and becoming God's waiting room like other towns of it's size.
Still, this place at least has something to do during the day and at night. In Canada, I lived in the rural greenbelt that circled the City of Toronto. Farmland and suburbs. I didn't have neighbours at one point. The whole place was stopped from sliding rural povety by people working in the City and bringing City wages back.
In summary, I can't wait to move to a city.

There were several nice alcohlic girls living there but they weren't my type. Still the land was dirt cheap and the people were friendly. I dare say a guy who wasn't a jerk could screw half the girls in town with no problem.

I live in the state of Hawaii on the island of O'ahu.
Born here, raised here.
Half-Japanese, Some European, and Hawaiian.
Love the beach and ocean and surfing.
...Although O'ahu is considered the "mainland" US to the outer islands in the state of Hawaii.
I live a few blocks away from the picture below.
(It's Kahala Beach, btw) Enjoy the waves!

I like to be out doors so it's perfect for me. The problem is you spend alot of time traveling to BFE to do the survey you were commisioned to do. I'm not married so that's not a big deal for me but a few of the fellows I used to work with had trouble balancing family time and work time.
All in all it's interesting work and it pays well.

Yes I do. The funny thing is I grew up in San Diego where the surfing is great but I never actually learned until I went to college in Santa Barbara where the surfing totally sucks.
I don't get out as often as I like and the waves are crowded but once in a while you get the right day where the other people stay at home and the waves are great.

The winter is good. Bigger waves and less people. Where do you go out? And did you go to UCSB? I've looked at that break. It was pretty small. But it was summer...
