I didn't ban gambling. IT improved my economy but increased crime. (My economy went from fragile to reasonable).

You know what would be nice? If Redjob listed ALL the nations instead of just the top ten

I imagine he would, if that didn't involve digging through five pages worth of stuff rather than just copy-pasting...

I'm 14. I still haven't had any issue to deal with gambling. Obviously being where I'm from, I will legalize it. It just hasn't came up yet.

Today's report:
The Largest Welfare Programs (per capita) in Apolyton
1. The Free Republic of Greater Finland
2. The People's Republic of Zephyra
3. The Disputed Territories of The Mad Capitan
4. The Free Land of Ubinia
5. The Republic of Centralis
6. The People's Republic of Brelgovar
7. The Holy Empire of Euskadia
8. The Kingdom of Wine
9. The Federation of Redfern
10. The Free Republic of Marijuania
Errr... I guess my imploded economy and tax rate of 73 % has something to do with it?

I'm 25th (of 44), and I'm a Scandinavian Liberal Paradise.
Guess that says something about the politics of the leaders of the nations in the Apolyton region.
Kass: Congrats, and yes, I would say that your outlawing capitalism may have been just a slight factor in this.
Edit: Out of curiosity, I decided to check and see which nations were on top in the world ranking. The highest is "The Federation of The People":
Quote:

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, the Environment, and Education. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
|
It also mentions that their civil rights are "excessive."
Edit again: Ironically, the #2 on this ranking also has a 100% tax rate (with the same comments re the private sector), but also has a "good" economy. Must be damn good lemonade.

8th, Guess that giving that 20% Wage increase to the workers was a good thing.
Although none of my 3 levels changed

I would like to ask a question. I'm aware that the Governor of Centralis is our new UN Delegate, and now has 2 endorsements, to my 1 (Edit: now 2), and would like to ask why people have removed their endorsements from me? I had 6 two days ago. I am aware that people are perfectly entitled to withdraw their support at any time, and I am not condemming it at all, but I would like to know why? Have I done something that people did not agree with? If so I am sorry, it was not my intention.
Edit: I have removed my support from Centralis, because it was suggested that it may have added my endorsements to Centralis. I am unaware that this is the case, but I would like to check. This does not signify my lack of support for Centralis, I'm sure GT will do a good job, it is just to test.

It seems that the country in charge lose thier endorsements from time to time, I had to reendorse you two times after you where elected and when centralis was elected my endorsement for them whent away (along with my endorsement for you but that might have happened earlier) without me doing anything
I've reendorsed both of you now though.

I'm 47th, but the cool thing is that the UN is now ranking my political freedom from Some to Good, thanks for letting corporations give money to politicians, and my economy is not Strong, compared to the old "resonable"

I've now got a good economy, and superb civil rights My political rights are good, but I still don't get why it improves your political rights if companies can buy votes. Maybe in theory, in reality, the person who spends the most wins (at least in the US) over 90% of the time. I want my people to make up their own minds about their ruler, which is why I have an independant media.
Anyways, rant over
Which is better, a 'Scandanavian Liberal Paradise' (No!! not Finland ) or a 'Left-Leaning College State'?
