Suggestion for new unit (maybe for Civ4)
Add an LHA for better support of amphibious assaults and a unit like a Harrier. For those of you who do not know what an LHA is, it looks like a small aircraft carrier. It carries helos, Harriers, landing craft and marines and supports amphibious landings.
The LHA:
- Would be able to carry 4 foot units.
- Would be able to carry 4 air units.
- Would be able to carry Harriers, which would be like a Bomber except it can attack like a Marine.
- Could carry helos (the helos, in turn, would have to be altered to allow them to be carried on a carrier.)

Amphibious carriers have been high on my wish list from day one. But civ3 doesnt have enough flags to do it.

If I can get land and naval mines to work I bet you can figure this out. You might have to make a different helo or something...I'd try and do it for you, but my brain is on overload at the moment.

Invisible, inmovable sea unit with bombardment ability on passing ships and airdrop ability? Could one mod a nuclear sea mine?

I also have a idea (for a speacil unit for Canada...) The Peace-keeper! It would replace the Mech Inf. and have something like 10/30/10 (a/d/cost) and the rest would be the same.

I didn't make the mines...I just downloaded them...the thing was that nobody knew what flags to attach to these units and so on to get them to work semi-correctly...I was able to get them to work properly...that's what I meant by what I said earlier.

There are a lot of untis thats should be incorporated into civ3. Military unit wise it has a lot less diversity than many games around. This idea is very cool. It reminds me of an idea I had a while back about an APC, that could carry 2 nonwheeled units (inf, marine, para) be armoured and pour them out later so they can keep up with the tanks in the modern age. Not very hard to think of and realistic too. You wonder why it's so difficult, hey?

It's difficult because there aren't that many flags and because you need to have certain things "ticked" on the editor in order to get the AI to use the new units. No matter what cool ideas people have the fact is everyone is limited in what they can make units do.

spy plane.
no range limits, invisible to enemy interceptors, can view trouble spots anywhere on earth.
if anyone can't handle the "no range limits" thing, lets have some refueling planes to so as to keep those bad boys in the air.
OR
Satellites... when Rocketry becomes available. Use them to snoop on your enemies to your hearts delight.
