Yes! I bought Jennifer Government yesterday. My reasoning is exactly that of Mr. Statics. (and I read the first chapter, seems to be interesting)

Maybe in the future. Hey, I could even translate it to Portuguese if it is good.

Someone tell me what it's like when they get it. I have way too much to read already, and exams to do, so I have to be very selective about what I read. Does look good though.

Jennifer Government isn't out in paperback yet is it?
as for the poll, the third option is closest to my "not yet but maybe".

I bought JG. It's not bad. It's not as funny as the jacket indicates but definitely has its moments. I found it to be an interesting read and hope he gets his bestseller. I noticed he didn't get the bestsellers listing he was shooting for. That may not be his fault though; there were only three copies I could find in all of Birmingham, AL.

ok, DD. ive read both. I found both to be quick reads, and very enjoyable. Syrup was much lighter than JG. i can easily recommend both of them, but i caution you that many others havent liked some aspects of barry's writing style. i suggest you read the first chapters here:

Jennifer governemnte seemed amazingly funny
like a modern "Space Merchants" (you know; the book by Fred Pohl and CM Kornbluth)
It seemed better than Syrup- though syrup seemed fast paced as well.
although they both seemed fairly foul mouthed.
but reasonably fun!

Once again, I must state that I loved Jennifer Government. I haven't been able to locate his other books in real bookstores, but am on the lookout!
