Should we build Bach's Cathedral?

Thanks to our skilled

diplomats, we have gained the technology of theology, allowing us to build Bach's Cathedral.

Is it worth the shields from our caravans to build this wonder?

A couple of points.

With Bach's we will be able to drop our luxury rate to 20%, while raising our science to 60% without disorder in our cities.

Bach's will also allow us to persue a policy of 'containment' without disorder in our cities, as we now face.

If we choose to WLtPD- Bach's will also help, in requiring fewer luxuries to celebrate.

Let me know what you really want!

then yes...otherwise don't bother.....

personally i like bachs....but it really is an agressive wonder

if we keep producing all those oil caravans and haven't discovered automobile yet, then yes as oil is a waste

well building oil would be like building food, except if there are a few not used on a wonder, they can quickly be used as a route

I voted no. We already have plaenty of land to expand into if we want, and we're trying to play defense while building science.

So let the AI build Bach's. In fact, I don't think we should build SETI either -- it's not that many turns from there to Space Flight.

We will have Automobile SOON (and IIRC it should be available), creating an Oil market. In the meantime, there are many opportunities for trade routes -- if we invest properly in Transports and military escort ships. Let's put our resources into TRADE!!

I like Bach's but then usually I'm playing an expansive game with a massive and expanding CIV, as it's useful for small new cities whilst they grow to a point where they're producing plenty of arrows and have other happiness improvements. I've voted for building it for this game on the basis that if we're not playing an aggressive military strategy, I'd rather have it than let one of the other Civs build it near their capital where I'm not going to be able to sneakily capture it.

However I can't say it's a really strong vote, more of a "yes" than a "YES!!!".

well it depends on which ai might build it....if were not taking seti or bachs, stay on the path....if we are building those then preventing the ai from them is a good thing
