LWC mod in XP
I have been playing civ3 with the LWC mod for ages. It makes the game so much better. BUT I have upgraded to WindowsXP and the mod crashes at the start. Any ideas anyone?

Any error messages? You shouldn't be having a problem, Civ III works just fine in XP. You might want to consider uninstalling/reinstalling, I had to do that when I upgraded. Mine was a video resolution problem though. And you have updated all your drivers? What about the normal game?

Willem is probably right. I had a similar issue. When I got Civ3, and installed it on my pre-existing XP, it worked fine. After a patch, 1.21, I think, I had to update video drivers. Try that first.

Thanks for your messages guys. When I said upgrade I should have said new computer (with latest drivers). Normal game works fine. when I try to runthe LWC scenario I get an error -
ERROR LOOADING FILE
Missing entry in "text\pediaIcons.txt":ICON_BLDG_GUN_PLACEMENTS
I looked in the text file and the entry is there!
Any ideas anyone?

Don't presume that you have the latest drivers. Just because it's brand new doesn't mean it's up to date. Go the web sites of the manufacturers and make sure.
As for the error message, you're probably missing this entry. Either that or you have a minor spelling error.
