The best Beatles song
I think I got all of the greatest hits. And somewhat in chronological order as well!
Let it Be is best IMO, with Hey Jude and Yesterday being runners up.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Octopus' Garden
In my Life

Don't Let Me Down
These weren't number ones, but I like them.

Let it be, followed by Hey Jude.
It's a tough call though.

I'm really fond of Elanor Rigby, but there are so many great ones.

There are so many good ones, and it all depends on my mood. I've has Lady Madonna running through my head a lot recently, other times it will be Elenor Rigby, Ticket To Ride, and for a while, Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

Nice! I just looked at the tracklist for 1 (its chronologically organized) and my poll, which was done from memory, almost exactly replicates it.

Funny, I would say that long and winding road was their very worst song.

'she loves you'. I wasn't alive at the time, but it seems full of energy and reminds me of screaming girls on black and white film. Not the best song, but the one i think of when the Beatles are mentioned

good job copying the track list from Beatles 1
where is Back in the USSR? A Day in the Life? Nowhere Man? Ob-la-di Ob-la-da? Revolution? Twist and Shout? While My Guitar Gently Weeps?
#1 would have to be A Day in the Life

I think From me to You, Love Me Do, Can't Buy Me Love, Ticket to Ride, Penny Lane, Lady Madonna, Get Back, and the Long and Winding Road should be taken off the list, and Here Comes the Sun, I Saw Her Standing There, In My Life, A Day in the Life, Across the Universe, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, I Am the Walrus, and Strawberry Fields Forever should be added. Thank you.
And I would probably vote In My Life if it was there. But tough choice.

Even without looking at the option, I knew Helter-Skelter wouldn't be on it
Not saying it's their best, but certainly alot better then most of them.
Yesterday is arguably their best though.

A toss-up between "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "With a Little Help From My Friends."

A Day in the Life.
Most of the early stuff (pre-'66) was pretty much interchangeable.
edit: except "I Saw Her Standing There" - thanks tandee for reminding me of that.

Helter Skelter
One of the best songs ever made, ever.
The poll itself is pretty pointless since it includes very few of their best songs, and they have made many many good songs.
There are simply too many to list. But Helter Skelter has to be one of the most amazingly powerful songs ever made. By god I wish I had my white albumn CD here now. Probably my favourite Beatles song.

"A Day in the Life" is the best, followed closely by "I am the Walrus"; but my favorite is "For No One."
