Will we be permitted to retreat?
Retreat is one big bug. Using it we are able to get as many slaver as we want from battles clearly a game unbalancement and ruiner. This will be forbidden at all.
But there also is the problem that the human uses it but the AI does not use it at al.l what gives a unfair advantage to the human player. Not to mention the nefarious use to see how many units there is in a city. So if we use it will only be a help fo the human. The AI will be a very badly injured if we do!
So my question is: Shall we use the retreat button at all???

The other question is whether we will be very badly injurded if we do not do it. So let's see how bad it will be and then we can still change our mind. But so far the answer is no, do not use the retreat option.

Did Alexander retreat? No. Did Genghis retreat? No. Will the distinguished Lumerian army retreat? No.

Who said anything about the Mongols? I was referring to Genghis McKenzie. The pot-bellied, haggis-eating Scot who butchered a thousand Englishers using only a really nasty bout of Halitosis.
Tsk, tsk. Really Locutus. Get your history straight.

I think it means: "He who doesn't retreat."

Pedrunn, after studying the constitution, it seems if you use this poll to decide the outcome of a turn, then you are violating the constitution (as it is technically unofficial). Unofficial polls shouldn't decide the governments policy.

i suppose i should point out that this poll is in no way whatsoever binding. as for it being unconstitutional i believe it is within the guidelines presented in the CON

This is an unnoficial poll. I am just collecting information and checking out opinions.
So no constitutional violation.

the constitution says: "(b) They may only exist to debate or gather information. Their outcome should not affect the course of the game or the policy of the government."
so you can gather info, but can't do anything with it according to the CON would an interesting peice of work is this Constitition.

WE WILL NEVER RETREAT!
but sometimes a war can be won by giving terrain to the enemy for a short period of time - so they get stuck, where we want them, while we are regrouping our troops

The whole idea of this thread came when i read this thread
And I questioned how eagerly do the citizens of Lemuria wanted to use this bugged option.
So just an unoficial thread

well, it shouldn't be exploited for slave generating, but i don't see a general problem with retreating if a battle turns out bad
