HELP with videos (movies)

I cant see either the intro or in game movies, they just come out as green bars. I have the latest drivers for my card and EA tech support is no help, please can someone help me! I really want to see the vids (before i get bored of the game as i've already finished it once).

Also, i've tried making a custom faction but the pic has black dots on it but only when viewed in the game, any ideas?

Weird...you have the Planetary Pack and I don't, so I really don't know anything about fixing that. The same glitch happens to me with the custom faction, though. Try EA again, they helped me out a lot before.

I still cant get the videos to work in the game, (but can view them using the SMAC video outside the game) and have still no reply from numerous requests to EA tech support. Can anyone help??
