The Simcity4 Thread
Even though most of us don't have it yet, might as well get a thread going anyhow for those who do got it. Plus, I have a wonderment/question already:
You can connect individual cities within a region with roads and what not to stimulate commerce and travel between said cities. I wonder, if I were to connect two cities with a road that ran through an empty city plot (no city built, just a highway running through it) what would happen?

Some shops are already selling it.
Anyway, what's with the sim figures appearing in it ?
Edit: sorry, didn't notice the other thread

the "sim figures" are just special residents that will give you feedback on how their life is - ie. they'll move into a house, and if it doesn't have police coverage they'll complain to you about it, they'll praise you for well funded schools, ect. You can also bulldoze their house to piss them off.
The game comes with a few of them to add to your city wthout you having to own The Sims, apprently you can download more aswell. (I have no idea if there's even a difference between them aside from their face... maybe they each have different priorities)

Can I put them on the police's "wanted" list and get them jailed? Please?

It was about time we had a new thread. The third one was getting huge just like the previous ones

Got my first city going; the 'Smalltown America' type.
Going to try to make another one now and connect the two.. to see what happens.

fool, don't read something like that about something you don't have yet
I'm avoiding any big discussion about gameplay till i have it installed and running.

Agreed. This is going to be a tough couple weeks with classes until I have some time to play it - it is sitting on my desk unopened. Tempting like crazy.

Btw, it runs 'decent' on my Celeron 850 system, 229 megs RAM, but not perfectly smooth. Its especially bad when changing zoom levels- when the graphics scale up and down for detail purposes, it really lags the action for about 2 seconds.
Otherwise, the game looks good.
