Are You Keeping Track of Things?
I just wondered if every team has appointed someone to act like a Historian of some sort. It would be great to hear what has really happened in the game after it is finished. Things you'll never find out about in Single Player mode.
Which Civs declared war, and for what reason?
Which treaties were broken?
Who discovered Steam Power first?
Which city has changed ownership the most times?
Was tribute paid as a gift to other Civs?
Who got a Great Leader?
Which wonder project was aborted because the wonder had already been built?
Which maps have been exchanged?
Were there any miscommunications leading to centuries of hate between nations?
Which naval battles have been fought?
Which resources have been traded?
Was any espionage conducted?
How many nuclear bombs have been produced?
... (etc. etc.)

Legoland keeps adding entries to a "Chronicle", that depicts every single turn in quite a great detail. Should be the kind of thing you mean...

i HOPE alot of those accomplishments are beyond the reach of all teams right now, to be irrelevant
nuclear arms and steam power being two such examples.

Do nuclear tipped pikes count as nuclear arms?
If so, the GoW's words are backed with nuclear weapons!!!

We find Belgians make the best historians and have both Alva and DeepO on the task. It should be an excellent historical account; I look forward to its completion.

Belgians would make the best historians? Nah... history is normally written by the victors, and if there is one thing quite common to Belgian history it is that there always was at least one foreign country which laid claim to our lush grasslands... we've been subjugated for some 2000 years, so how were we supposed to write any history
Diplomacy, that's an area in which Belgium should be good, as we still need to negotiate our independence amids a few powerful countries... it's no coincidence that Brussels is the European capital, it's in our blood.
Maybe FP would make a good historian? After all he comes from England, which has long been a fine conqueror of worlds

Wasn't it Churchill who observed that history is written by the victors? We will do it when the game is over.

But we will forget to remember what happened. And since we are doing horrible job of keeping records, and we will obviously be the winner, I guess theres not much history to write about once the game is over.

Maybe once we all have contact & embassies with each other (IWO, middle ages). But until then, I can just see it now...
The Apolyton
Gathering Storm refuses to disclose situation
GS leaders continued to refuse interviews with The Apolyton's reporters tuesday.
Neu Demogyptica not talking
Likewise, the German team also refused to talk to this esteemed newspaper.
Roleplayers clam up
The only press release the Roleplay team was willing to make tuesday was that shopkeepers have found a new product: "clams." "And we thought squid was nice," Despot Togas commented.
Vox doesn't even have that one voice
Vox Controlli appeared to be Zero Voices, refusing to even pick up the prototype cup phone our reporters have given them.
Legolanders have strange cult
Our staff in Legoland report the inhabitants have a strange religion centered around foreigners, which apparently involves shoving large bricks in their mouths whenever a foreigner approaches them.
GoW still on tundra island
GoW reported through GhengisFarb tuesday that "[we're] still stuck on a tundra island here." He went on to say that "Our great - err, tiny, yeah, tiny, that's the ticket - civilization is still fishing for a living, and we have a long way to go to mapmaking. Curse all those members who voted against England; yeah, that's right, curse 'em."
Anomymous sources reported GhengisFarb collapsed on the floor laughing as soon as he was out of the press room.

It turns out that leeks grow well in the Tundra Island climate; therefore we have many leeks, GF.
