Why is it so slloooow
Am I doing something wrong???
Just tried PTW with my brother over the net (only a dial-up modem) and it's just unplayable. It takes about 2 minutes just to recognise that I've finished my turn.
I can't belive they would put a game out as bad as that, I have very few problems playing other games over the net (AvP2, Asherons Call2) and they have top class graphics so why should this be different? Even Civ 2 multiplayer was a dam sight quicker.
If its the patch thing I have to download thats a real pain in the a** because it's 10mb long and as anyone in the UK with a dial-up modem knows, you get disconnected every hour or so. This is really p**ing me off - I just can't believe they could release such a shoddy product

You need the patch. Of course, if your internet connection is that bad it might not help.

The next expansion pack of Civ3 will be:
Civ3 Collector Edition or Civ3 Expansion Patch: On a CD got all the patch for Civ3 and Civ3:PTW!!! By luck Firaxis have good consummer service and they keep making new patch... ...

The patch will be needed. As to the graphics, 120 frames make up each movement unit, and unless someone comes up with anything better, it is about the real Civilization.

Single player still can be played though.

The fault is real civilization not have a civilization to play it in, as people wanted graphics and unlike ms-dos Civilization, it is not contained in 640kB of memory.

A site in England should have the patch, maybe GameSpot UK or something to download, but alas the patch other than for the U.S. may not be out yet.

They are working on it, and that is .................... the game.

It took 6000 years of history, and someone to program it.

It is a freaky adventure, and you are the game.

Its virtual reality, and all people of the world should be able to play it, against one another, as soon as technology allows one to do this!
