1. You can't go 2 miles without seeing a restaurant... (FOOD!)
2. Entertainment... 100's of TV channels, tons of movies, video games, etc...
3. When in doubt, turn on the TV and make fun of the white-males that "lead" our country.

Freedom of speech gives us the right to express our opinion without fear, no matter how stupid the opinion is in reality.
Freedom of religion gives us the right to worship as we choose, without fear; regardless if one is a Fire and Brimstone Baptist, a Wiccan, or a sensible Methodist.
Freedom of expression insures our rights to make total asses of ourselves, as we protest for our right to screw up.

Looks like a sig. My sig. Pretty please?
1. You take blame for the rest of the western world.
2. You have military, so we don't have to . This will probably change .
3. The country is very different in different areas. Any bad thing one can come up with about America, is usually specific only to some region. Crowded, rude, noisy? Don't go to New York, there is much more to USA than the big cities. I would however love to see N.Y.

1) 99% of everyone here is from somewhere else. I had dinner last night with a Sri Lankan, an Irishman, two Mexicans, an Argie, a gay Pueto Rican, and a half Russian Jew/half Syrian Muslim from New York. The waitress was a Kiwi.

F-off Paiktis. Christ, he opens a "love America" thread and posts that ****. Post it elsewhere, by all means, but not here.
My list:
1) "Can-do" attitude
2) Variety, baby! It's the spice of life.
3) Nearly all of us are mutts, and I think we're better for it.

I just thought you *might* have at least enough tact to just ignore this thread. Silly me. My expectations and your actually behavior didn't coincide, and it pissed me off. Serves me right for expecting too much of you.

i won't say freedom of speech because america is not really the prime example of it imho, and many other countries have it too..
1) big country with lots of free space and a huge variety of nature... it's got nicer surroundings in the non-megalopolis areas than in my country (no open land here anymore)
2)cartman
3)homer
i really can't think of anything more... maybe the fact that there is still a good amount of people that don't support Bush.. that's positive

America has more free speech than certain european countries like France who have hate speech laws.

At least until someone develops their space program enough to be able to de-orbit large chunks of rock onto Earth at high velocities. (One reason why I despise those UN treaties.)

There are many reasons I'd like to give.
But here's my 3 cents:
Good place for Ruskies. They are overwhelmed with all the goods they see in stores. They are stunned. I know this for a fact, knew some Ruskies.
Food: Peanutbutter, Denny's, McDonald's and other hamburger places are better in the USA than at my place, there's is a place in the USA where they serve the country's best burgers (from the film Fried Green Tomatoes?),etc.
Easy life

1. Meritocracy. Not perfect. But still pretty good.
2. Much more social churn. Less of a lingering class structure.
3. Geographic mobility.

David, it's just generic, we always save the world. It's the cross we as Americans carry with such might and energy. We carry it w/ profound grace, great determination, an eternal faith in our great goodness and an overbearing humility, but we get the job done anyway.

Hmm... i couldnt remember the name to save my life... i could look for it though. it was a little town where they filmed the movie Fried Green Tomatoes (the story of the movie took place in Alabama or somethn). I remember i was visiting my family in Marietta (just outside Atlanta, im sure you know where that is, GP) and we took a car trip. I was a young'en then, being in like 6th or 7th grade. All i remember is my Aunt asking if I wanted to go to Warm Springs (the place FDR always went for thereapeutic stuff for his Polio, and IIRC, it is where he died) , which was somewhat nearby. we didnt have time for Warm Springs tho, in the end. Anyway the burgers were fantastic, i remember, and Ive always wanted to go back. If i find where it is, ill post it.

And here is a link to the actual resteraunt, the one that was in the movie and is also an active resteraunt.

I do not love America (the country), but I do love what some Americans have done :
1) Calvin and Hobbes
2) Civilization
3) Being the absolute scapegoats of the Earth. Life is much easier when you don't have to think before blaming

Work ethic. Thank God that there is one place left in the Western world where being unemployed is undesirable.
Inventiveness. America has invented more things and advanced technology more than any other country in the modern era, and it produces more new things every day.
Being unafraid. American governments don't care if they stand alone.
