The stockpile energy thing is a bug in that you can get minerals applied to a build and then in the same turn, reap the energy from the stockpile-- BUt is is a bug that we all can exploit equally then there is no unfairness as between the players if we all know that we can use it.

Upgrading anytime with the design Workshop is NOT cheaper AFAIK. What it changes is the ability to suprise someone. The innocent 1-1-1 sentry gets upgraded to a best weapon and attacks in the same turn whereas upgrading an individual unit uses up its turn-- some view this as unfair and a game bug-- I suggested allowing it but if people want to prohibit it, thats fine too as long as we all know.

Since two of us are agreed that only one of us may win, I would say that we go with that unless one of you has a strong objection

I'm happy with the stockpile energy queue- I prefer to use it. I'm not sold on the design workshop thingy- i've never used it though I can see how it would be very useful. No real objection though, i'll have to play around with it.

I see that I have the turn and will play it as soon as I get home. Am I right in that we are all happy that humans can only win solo and stockpile is in?

On the issue of upgrade and use, I made the suggestion but I am equally happy to play the other way-- all I want is clarity.

just a question--- Are not the angels supposed tp have info net and Planetary net as the starting techs ?? -- thats what the F1 information says in the datalinks but I haven't played the angels in a while. I didn't get planetary net which is what I really hoped and thought I would have.

I'll hold the turn till I hear since there is no sense playing more turns if there is something to be fixed

You are correct. I opened the turn up and sure enough it is wrong. Hmmm it is checked off on my list. I will fix this and resend to Hobbes.

Turn sent. Wierd, my city dosn't look like a peacekeeper city. Dosn't matter I guess.

And unless it's already been decided I'd like to vote no for the upgrade the turn it's built.

I understand we're using the stockpile energy...tactic, though I don't agree with it.

Well, looks like we'll need to join together to kick those ugly aliens off OUR planet! I assume we can't really talk until we have each others comm frequency.

It is all to do with the last SMAC/X game you played, how your faction looks.
(known bug ? ) SMAC memory/history file? it is not a problem. Check CGN academy bug list

???? A big NO to this idea. If I want to build a scout & then upgrade it to an AAA Police Silksteel defender, I'm going to. Never heard of this idea. This is not what the design workshop upgrade "bug" accomplishes.

yes you can upgrade the turn a unit is built. the bug comes into play if you use the design workshop to upgrade a unit and then use the enhanced abilities on the same turn ( when it was originally built is irrelevant). This was felt to be a bug since upgrading the other way uses up the units turn.
