Thats all very nice, but a ballistic missle, such as those launched by the Sovietskii have already burned all of their fuel when they begin their terminal dive from the heavens. A destroyed engine will not cause it to change course. THis is pure and simple murder. I am calling on the court to charge Tassador with crimes against humanity and to charge the general as a willing accomplis.

Did you flunk ballistics 101??? A ballastic missile is hardly going to continue flying sedately onwards after having been pumelled by depleted uranium shells and ABMs, which our satellites did record the use of.

Then explain their presence around major installations as repeatedly recorded by our satellites.

Then why did we see them working perfectly well on video when theys hot down the incoming ballistic missiles? Are you merely trying to coneal your country's armaments and score propaganda points in the process?

Since they are made out of cardboard, nothing could possibly have come out of these 'silos.' The data that you are thus presenting is false.

Can you provide evidence? We have it all on video, which can be quite easily confirmed as geniune. All we have from your side is protestations of innocence, though of what we don't know. What have you got to hide?

The launchers we have recorded were black, so you have either replaced them with the things you claim they were originally, or else simply painted it brown.
However we fail to see what releveance any of this has. After New Elysium invaded their country, the Sovietskii launched missiles directed at military targets; the Elysian miltiary shot them down, which caused them to land in civilian areas. No-one is to blame for this, so why do you persist in attacking the Sovietskii?

New Elysium you have not withdrawn your troops form the territory of Sovietskii. We are now begining a millitary campagn to route out all terriortist from your nation.
The Jackson airforce has begun bombing runs of millitary installations and anti aircraft guns and defense systems with use of laser guided bombs and missles. Our troops have begun to hunt down the terriorist in Sovietskii.

The blood is on the hands on the Sovietskii for the murder of countless civilians
Seems to me that Jackson has put its troops inside the Sovietskii space without asking permission from the Sovietskii. That could be considered a state of war.

New Elysium you are clearly missinformed. We are allied with Sovietskii, and they ask for millitary assiantance long ago and our troops have been there ever since. YOu are missinformed. We again repeat WITHDRAW FROM SOVIETSKII TERRITORY AT ONCE!

*YAWN* We have repeatedly pointed out that the missiles WERE NOT AIMED AT CIVILIAN TARGETS. They hit them as result of being knocked off course by your military. While shooting them down was a perfectly natural thing to do, it doesn't put the blame on the ones who fired them, because they did not aim them there and would have had no reason to think they would land there.

The Sovietskii Soyuz has requested international assistance in putting down the insurgency in their territory. Jackson's actions are part of that effort.

We wish to announce that Pasiphae is manufacturing non-destructive bombs. These bombs release ultra-fine short-circuiting carbon-fibre wires over electrical installation, whichcan knock out over 70% of a country's power grid.
We believe that non-lethal destructive devices are the best way to go when counter-acting terrorist countries.

One has to wonder why Pasiphae wishes to attack power grids AT ALL. They are a vital part of the civilian infrastructure, and a sustained lack of electricity in a nation has catastrophic effects on the civilian population.

The flip side to that is that the country will not have enough electricity to launch nuclear weapons.
If the government truly cares about their citizens they will have a back-up for this, like Pasiphae has done themselves.

But if they don't care for their citizens (and even if they do), are they not more likely to have taken the elmentary precaution of providing their military installations with an independant power supply?

...which is the main reason of the bomb. They will immobilise ELECTRICAL buildings in the grid. Thus civilians will have access to their electrical power if they live in the major cities, yet the military in rural areas will not.

Of course, the main point is that this "graphite bomb" will still have the infrastructural damage of a nuke, yet will have NO civilian casulties. Also, I'd rather lose my power than get struck by a nuclear warhead.
It's a non-lethal weapon which will go miles to helping defences against nuclear weapons.

...? You state that the main purpose of this device is to attack power stations in order to deprive a country's military of power, specifically their nuclear forces. Yet any government with half a brain will have taken the precaution of giving it's military installations independant power sources to protect against thsi weapon. how exactly do you intend to counter that, especially when the sources for nukes are likely to be contained within their own sealed silos?

I'd like to see you repeat this assertion when the first hospital shuts down as result of these bombs.

We don't plan to deprive citizens. We wish to deprive the military of power.
For those new to the bomb, it works as follows:
1. Laser guided bombs split open, spinning and dispersing 100-200 soda-can size canisters.
2.Each canister has a parachute, which causes the canister to flip up.
3. A small explosive forces the canister open, and releases a spool of carbon.
4. The carbon unravelsand overlaps, forming webs.
5. The carbon webs are highly conductive and drape over power lines, causing a power-surge which overloads that shuts down the plant.
Each bomb has the capibility to disarm 1 power station. If a command and control system has no electricity to turn it on, it is just wire, metal and plastic, not a functioning military system.
Of course there is the infrastructure problem, but these bombs are a lot better than nukes. I'd rather have my country pay for the price of a switching station than the cost of moving an entire city and its people because of radiation.

Centralis fails to see why there must be a choice made between these bombs and nukes. You have still failed to explain how these bombs will deal with the problem of independant power supplies, which means that the only people likely to suffer from this weapon are civilians.

If a major military base is near a major city, then these bombs are an idea choice.
If it is for knocking out missile silos, then these bombs are ideal for short circuiting the silo of power, since there will be at least some wires outside.
If you can knock out the major source, you will have enough time to conduct a major bombing run on the target without fear of being shot upon. With no lights (with no electricty) night is perfect.

The point, is though, that if the installtions are sealed, the carbon fibres will not touch the wiring, and hence will be ineffective.

And anti-aircraft weapons will be inside, hence ineffective.
I fail to see your point. One simply does not keep an unguarded nuclear silo. You have anti-aircraft weapons, which will be rendered moot with no lights.

President Rasbelin points out that the ODSN is controlled by a puppet regime chairman, while Suomi has the real power and accepts new members.
OOC: Tass is just absent now, but I'm sure we get somekind of a working system to accept new members. So I'm just temporarily exercising a Machiavellian model.
