Oh bloody hell...
In an attempt to improve my nation's economy, I've been trying to help business in just a couple of issues. Now my nation has gone from 'left-wing utopia', to 'civil rights lovefest' to 'left0leaning college state' and now is 'capitalizt'.
So now I'm going anti business again to not be right-wing. AAAAAAAH

You will become capitalist. Resistance is futile.

Oh thank God, I'm back to a left-leaning college state, with superb civil rights, a good economy and very good political freedoms... phew.

That's just a built-in bias of the game. Clearly it has certain assumptions of how things work, and this is one of them.
So yeah, it is right-wing.

I just got an issue about uranium mining in the rainforest. I want to both protect the environment and also make mountains of money, so I chose the option that says ' "There's no need for an either-or decision," says the government's Minister for Mining, Clear-Felling, and the Environment. "We can preserve most of the rainforest and allow mining of a small part. After all, think of all the good that the money from this uranium deposit can bring to Karakas." ' I hope that has the effect I want.

The result is (AFAIK) a boost in economy and the appearance of uranium mining as an industry, along with a loss in the environment. The results message is 'the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas'; I don't know if the same happens if you just cut the rainforest down completely, or if it's something else.

Cutting it all down leads to "There is widespread deforestation". I've chosen no mining about 6 or 7 times now, hence my economy imploded, but I have an absolutly stunning nation.

What happens when that 'bias' is the truth?

I'd rather have a basket case economy and an excelent enviromentalist record than a strong economy in a barren wasteland. GO LEFTIES!!!

Shut up.
By the way, is "Thriving" better or worse than "Very Strong" in the economy sector?
