Correction, make that ~3-4 minutes left in the first poll. (either 'poly's clock is slow or mine is fast)

Yes, your VP choice, and their willingness to perform the duty could be useful in determining who we would choose to support.

I had wanted to keep that a surprise, but I agree that the voters likely deserve that information.
My first choice as Vice President is the SAME PERSON it was last term, but he's accepted for this term (he turned me down last time).
That person is Nimitz.
He is fully willing to serve, as he's getting a brand new computer and should be able to host turnchats now (where he says it would have been difficult before).
His would-be replacement to the Court is the issue I've been trying to wrestle with over the past week.
Of course, if I don't win, Nimitz stays on the Court
As for panag, if he's available this Friday, he may very well end up running a turnchat (because my availability for that evening is pretty shaky). Picking Nimitz for next term isn't really a vote of no confidence against panag, as I have faith (unlike some...) that he could have handled himself in a turnchat far better than it seems many would expect (and may yet show that this Friday if he's around). It's that I had told Nimitz from the beginning that if he wanted the position, it was his. Since he now wants it, its his
I hope that's acceptable to everyone.

I am deeply relieved that, in choosing a VP you have taken into account not only who you believe would be a good deputy and who you would like to work with, but also the confidence of the citizens in potential VPs.
I too believe this is quite an important piece of campaign information, as the previous choice of VP was a sizeable influence on my last vote, and possibly others' votes.
Your turn, Aro...

As I stated in the nomination thread in my own candidacy statement, my intended Vice President would likely have a very large role next term compared to vice presidents in the past. I intended to essentialy split the duties and responsibilities of President with that individual rather than simply keeping them as a "back-up" in the event I wasn't around.
Nimitz easily fits the bill on all counts for that role. If this works out, he would likely have a stronger role as a Vice President than even MrWIA gave me when I was his Vice President
It will be different, but I think it could work.

So the tickets are:
Arnelos/Nimitz
(the pacifistic socialists)
VERSUS
Aro/Aggie
(the militant enonomists)

I would just like to say that I endorse Aro in the runoff. Its time for a new face as president and I believe that Aro is the man for the job.

Hey, our court doesn't muck around. When we need a runoff, they give us a runoff .
I haven't decided how I'm going to vote in this election (yet). Having said that, I want to go ahead and say that both cannidates have my full support (I'm giving the 'support both sides since you don't know who'll win' strategy a shot ), and I hope the looser returns to run again next term.

I would say Aro is more "Blue" and the Sith are more "Red". Isn't Darth Maul all covered in red? Which is why I INTENTIONALLY gave each of you the colors I felt you deserved.

Well, the idea Meshelic and I had was that the Labor Party was the worker party and should be in red while the DIA was more of a "we'll make you filthy rich!" capitalist party and should be in blue.

Red, blue... Oh, that commie thing...
Btw, Ghengis, you can edit that post now, if you wish... I'm very honored to announce that Aggie accepted my invitation.
About Aggie... Well, I don't need to say anything, did I?
If I win, Aggie will be more than a VP, an adviser. His expertise will be inestimable.
(and God knows how I'll need that! )

The DIA is the biggest group of Leftist Pacifists I have ever seen.
I will not have the good name of Militant Capitalism beshamed (isn't politics amazing in its creation of new words?) by their anti-busines and anti-military agenda.

So, in other words...
Arnelos/Nimitz
(pro-development, pro-space race, pro-democracy)
VERSUS
Aro/Aggie
(pro-war, pro-domination, pro-theocratic socialism?)

Actually:
Arnelos/Nimitz
(the pacifistic socialists)
VERSUS
Aro/Aggie
(the militant enonomists)
I'm not a member of the Hawk party but I am a pro-business capitalist so I gotta support the Aro/Aggie pro-business ticket.

FYI: The Labor Party are the socialists, the DIA has wings.... the wing I'm from is decidedly pro-capitalist.
[rp]
What I find truly interesting is the alliance between the reds and browns. The baby-eating fascists are allying with the communists!
Those of us loyal to democracy and capitalism must unite behind the Arnelos/Nimitz ticket!
Think about it...
Religious Lunatics + Communists = Theocratic Socialism - horror of all horrors!
SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY! VOTE ARNELOS/NIMITZ!

There is no po-capitalist wing in the communistic DIA! I have never seen the DIA promote or support anything that was pro-business. They continually undermine Military Spending which is a significant driving force for our economy and industrial sectors.
Yes, their undermining led to the need to RUSH forces in this most recent war. Their actions to SABOTAGE our national interests are unforgiveable.
Those of us loyal to democracy and capitalism must unite behind the Aro/Aggie ticket!
And yes, as Arnelos said:

pfft.
It was those Hawks that were always pushing for knights before marketplaces and cavalry before banks!
The DIA has always stood for building more marketplaces, banks, courthouses, etc. We also voted, nearly unanimously, in favor of building WALL STREET at the earliest available opportunity in the most recent vote on prioritizing large construction projects.
No role-play there!
I and Nimitz have been clearly in favor of building up the financial situation for the nation and others such as our wonderful Domestic Minister Spiffor have done nothing but promote the construction of additional financial institutions to increase the money and economic strength of our economy.
The socialists and hawks, on the other hand, have done nothing but attempt to thwart our efforts to expand the Apolytonian economy. They have, at every turn, tried to prevent us from constructing marketplaces, banks, the Wall Street small wonder, and other pro-financial moves. They have also supported attacking critical trade partners from which we make HUNDREDS of LPT per turn in lucrative trade deals!
No, GhengisFarb, it is the communist hawks who stand against common sense business interests!
If you'd like to come over to the side of the pro-business community, perhaps you should become a builder

Oh yes, the socialists with their communistic plots ALWAYS support the establishment of "financial programs" to hook the populous on the need for welfare and unemployment checks.
This is how the DIA plans to undermine our national work ethic and industriousness.
It's certainly helping my post count.

What about the role that UnOrthO had in my first term as Prez (term 3) - he did EVERYthing 'till my comp was fixed.
And I had to learn if I could trust you Arn, you were new to me then, and I had to make sure that you were worthy to entrust the nation to.
You were.
In most things.

This is the first American style apolyton election the Vices picked before some ones won. Any ways I'd just like to say if you support democracy and capitalism vote Arnelos he supports such thing and is willing to keep improving our econ. where as the the others might just keep building military units with no though improving the econ so we can have more money coming in to support them.

I like this! Knowing who your Vice President will possibly be BEFORE the election. This could possibly help speed things up, of course I guess we still need to approve the VP, but whatever.
Good luck guys!
