YAY ! Party politics !
[rp]
We the DIA, and Arnelos specifically, have always been a pro-business party, whose concern has been the development of Apolytonian economy. While we were pushing for marketplaces, banks and Democracy, our communistic and fascistic opponents have done nothing but trying to satisfy their bloodlust, and to go to war for any reason.
Because of their fundamental inability to understand Economy or Democracy, they have hidden their striking incompetence behind emotional words like "revenge", "honor", "defense of the poor", without thinking twice of the dire consequences such absurdities will have !
I accuse the Labor Party to be detrimental to Apolytonia's economy, and to be detrimental to Apolytonia's citizens : the war against Germany, which they wholeheartedly supported, killed so many Apolytonians, and separated so many others from their families, that now 50% of our citizens, especially the poorest, want to stop it now. But nothing will stop the so-called "defenders of the poor" to spill blood of Apolytonians for their dreams of conquest !
I accuse Aggie's movement to be detrimental to The Great Banana, and to shame its name across the world ! His genocidial agenda will only bring hate towards the Great Banana from our neighbours who believe in inferior deities, and it will simply hinder us to spread the good word !
YOU the voters have a choice to make now. The DIA stands to annihilate the chaos that now threatens Apolytonia, and stands for raising our economy as high as possible, as high as the stars.
Aro and Aggie stand for blood, gore, and hate.
Make your choice
[/rp]
Gosh, I definitely need to learn a thing or two from Arnelos, I'm much less skilled than him in this

I really enjoy participating in a community wealthy enough to offer such a choice between two outstanding candidates, ... and so different.

Exactly, the only"pro-business" action has been to create a system and organization to siphon the money of the working class and patriotic Apolytonian into their pockets through "financial plans". They then encourage the average Apolytonian and Immigrant worker to QUIT THEIR JOBS building our infrastructure, roads, and farming the fields (jobs which help our economy and put food on the table) and move to the inner cities where there are no jobs and they are COMPLETELY DEPENDANT on WELFARE.

Yes, the DIA has.
It has even gone so far as to burn our capitol and rebuild a new "French" capitol to in their words, "better emphasize the true qualities of our French empire".

(Some editing occured to emphasize the true spirit of the quote)
How can you attack Aggie, the modern prophet of the Great Banana, and his great visions?
Blasphemy! Why must the communist party always destroy all of a society's religions in its quest for power?

Yes, choose to stand with the Sons of Apolyton and oppose the evil DIA who is so determined to build their Macross Sissian utopia, fire all workers from their jobs, dispand all police and military and control our society with their own goons.
Or join the dark side of the DIA.

BTW, almost all DIA members opposed the palace move (Arnelos, Panag and myself made it very clear), whereas some ALP champions like Shiber greatly favored it

I fully support Arnelos and Nimitz!
More fully than you can possibly imagine.

Huh... this is honestly closer than I figured it. I honestly thought that with Aggie joining Aro's ticket, this race was over.
My sincere thanks to the citizens of Apolytonia for keeping this race nearly tied
As for the party politics... I don't have time to compose something at the moment. I'll have to come back later when I'm done with working on RL stuff I have to do

Nah... You didin't!
I'm just trying to provoke Arnelos...
Btw, guys, keep voting!
Pick one. Arnelos is an excellent candidate (in fact, he is an excellent Prez), and I am... I am... a good cartographer.

It doesn't appear we had to wait all that long....
This is one of the best elections we have had in a long time. This is great. Love it. Super.
I still am not sure who to vote for.... and even if I do I am hesitant to say as it will probably drive everybody away from from them.....
We are already talking about in the court what to do if we this election ends up being a tie, so no needs to worry. Togas is keeping up and keeping everything on track.
Thanks Togas for getting this runnoff up so soon and for taking care of the elections in general.

What should happen if it ties again?
The end of the democracy?
I can see it now:
Armed Rebels clash with Government forces in opposition to Apolyton's failed elections!

Yes I can see it the nation splits in to three factions the military who supports Aggie, the workers who support Aro, and finally the busness who support Arnelos. ...and thus the great Apolytonian Republic was end by Germany and Rome do to the country being riped apart by a civil...and that was the start of the end of the world.

The God Judgment : bare hands duel to death.
But all the associations for the protection of threatened species will object.
So, a duel with arms ? Not the saxophone, nor the piano (I suspect Arnelos to play piano divinely).
Mental calculation perhaps, or vodka drinking ?
Any idea ?

Looks like the 19 that supported Arnelos & the 19 that supported Aro have now all voted.
This leaves the 11 who voted for Aggie up for grabs.

This would take place in my country, it would rather be that the 19 who voted for Arnelos are now voting for Aro, and the 19 who voted for Aro are now voting for Arnelos. Those people never vote twice for the same guy!

That's an easy one. Box up all the ballots and send them to Florida for a recount.
Great debate gentlemen.

a good thing there arent hundreds of votes, otherwise this would look scarily like the Ninot-Trip fiasco all over again.

Plus me -- I was one of the two who never got around to voting in the first election.
(I know, and I'm sorry -- not that it would've changed anything)
This time, though, I promise to vote -- so the count of votes'll be up to 49, if everyone else reappears.

If there is a tie, there should be a Civ3 PTW game with each pres and vice pres taking one civ. 2 civs on 2 civs.
Last team standing wins the election.
