Indication of # of PMs/Max PMs
Could Markos or Dan please impliment something that will show you how many PMs you have in relation to how many PMs you can have max? At CFC there's a little bar which shows you the percentage of space you have taken up, which is very useful. I would find this very useful, being that I get multiple PMs each day, and I really don't want to miss any that might be sent my way...

What is the max?
I've always wondered about that. I've let mine get up to 30, but I just deleted most of them.

I had about 48, then I deleted them all from the begining, but the funny thing is is that Apolyton is telling me I still have 28 left.
Weird.

If you have the "Save a copy" box checked when you send a PM, it saves a copy (duh) in your Sent items and counts them towards your PM total.

What actually is the PM limit? I have never cleaned out my folder, and about now it's probably going to be necessary.

The limit seems to be 150 or around that, counting both received and sent messages.

Are you sure? I was discussing some economics stuff with Bodd's a while back, and a PM I sent bounced. He cleaned out his PM's, and we carried on. I don't remember resending the bounced PM.

On the two occasions it happened to me I continued by email. I don't recall getting the PM again.

Yup, limit is 150 (sent+received), I've reached it at least half a dozen times already so I think I should know
And no, if it's bounced you'll simply have to send it again, it won't arrive after cleaning out the mailbox, which is very annoying indeed (but fortunately PMs can be exported now so I don't have as much problems with cleaning out my box in time anymore: I no longer have to fear losing important data).
But now I'm participating in two DGs the number of PMs I receive has grown steadily, so I certainly wouldn't mind if the limit was raised to 300 or higher (if the server can handle that...)

.....Or having them auto-deleted after a certain period. Maybe as an option?

Certainly better than missing a PM to have the oldest 5 deleted with a warning perhaps, when you reach 150.

How about when you get near to filling your inbox, you get a PM telling you to clear some out...

Alternatively members could simply keep weeding their PMs regularly. Its not like that many ever approach 150 PMs...

Shouldn't we moderators get more PM space? Ming has a genuine reason for having more than 150 PMs in his mailbox.

auto delete would be good.
But there should be a way to check ones you want to save permanently.

Delting the oldest would be much better then missing the latest e-mail.
