RESOLUTION: Next item to build
This is a crucial point in the game as far as the build queue is concerned, our next item will affect our actions for dozens of turns to come. So what we build next is of crucial importanice. Therefore I feel an explicit poll for this issue is needed, something which the current government doesn't seem to agree with (Pedrunn already listed a Warrior as next build order in the orders thread, while he nor Wise Ass nor anyone else polled the issue).
So far we built two Warriors. What should our next order be? Another Warrior or a Settler?
(This poll will expire in 3 days.)
IMHO we should build a Settler now and turn both our cities into Warrior factories after that.

Hard to say, our city will soon grow again. Currently (at maximized production), 5 turns for the Warrior, 20 for the Settler. I haven't fully figured out the production formula yet (it seems some units get a discount or something), but I think this will be 4 vs 15 after the city growth.

Settler, because we need a second production base, for building up our soon-be glorious army.

Build warriors. By the time the settler gets done there'll be barbs, Austrians and who knows what else hanging round the area trying to kill us.
Build up the army and take weak cities from the Austrians.

The MoD requires another warrior to defend the river.

We need more cities. Build the settler and shorten the production time with our gold

We'll lag behind if we don't build more cities.

We can build 4 warriors in the time it takes to build one settler. Then we just take an Austrian city and we'll have the warriors and the city.

This poll is unconstitutional since it has to be yes or know poll (the idea is that resolution polls can only be run-offs since it does reflects the opinion of all community to the best option).
But you just need a simple change to make it constitutional.
Change the question to "Shall the next item of the build queue be a settler?"
options.
"yes" buid a settler
"No" as stated by the MoDA buid a warrior.
"Abstain"
the result will be the same I dont think there will have to be any need to restart it

As mentioned elsewhere, this poll is not unconstitutional.
Constution Art. II.2.(d):
Quote:
|
Alternative terms for 'Yes' and 'No' may be used in a Yes/No poll, as long as their meaning is along the same lines as 'Yes' and 'No' (examples: 'I agree'/'I don't agree' or 'In favour'/'Against'). Terms are along the same lines as 'Yes' and 'No' when the question in the poll can be rephrased so that it can be answered with 'Yes' or 'No'.
|
You already did the rephrasing for me (and I did it myself in the Election for the Judge thread IIRC).

B has all elements of A plus its own. And C has all elements of B plus its own. So if i make a poll about A and B.
What about the rest of the elements of C?
Forget about the math talk. What if i want to buid a Granary. You excluded this option for me and forced me to vote only one of those.
I guess you consider that if we are going to build a warrior nevertheless. Since the MoDA had given me this order.
I dont want to close this thread i just want to point some mistakes someone may create if takes this polls as a model in the future.

I suggest you read the other thread
I've already pointed out there that the law limits my capabilities, as I as a Citizen can't make multiple choice polls: if I want to poll *all* buildings, I need 4 yes/no polls (and 4*3=12 days). If Wise Ass had started this poll, he could have made it OFFICIAL and multiple-choice. However, he failed to do so, forcing me to go this route...
If anyone disagrees with these choices, he can abstain and start a poll to overrule/supplement this one...

The two rephrasings offered (by Pedrunn here and Locutus elsewhere) are not the same question, and it's not obvious which one this poll is supposed to present, but although I'm pedantic enough to point that out, I don't actually care .

This resolution has reached the quorum and has been passed. The resolution is assigned the number 001.
The next item to be built in our capital must be a settler.
