We will need a level above Deity at some point, but not for a while. Logically the gap between levels increases.......30,000 for "superdeity" would be consistent with the other boundaries.

I think increasing the brackets of all titles by 5/3 or 2 would be enough. Once a couple of people make 20,000 that is. Still years off.

The numbers as they stand are very intuitive though.....and let's face it, not many are ever going to reach 10,000 posts.

AH was also getting too close to Ming's post count, so AH had pcr's through that also. Which incidentally is the same as being 'little naughty'.

Spikey,
I know. He's still enlarging his virtual post count "stick", despite it was chopped off a little bit.

I'd imagine if his Ot posts from the last 1.5 years counted he'd be pretty close to 20k. Especially if we correct for the PCRs.

Now, how many hours a day do you have to spend in order to post so much on this site alone?
So long...

I'm only a King with around 10% of AH's post count.

The Pioneer,
he has been around here for years, plus the most noticable thing, OT posts counted earlier, so that's why e.g. Mao and Horse have so many posts and are both Deities.

You are correct with Mao... without the OTF, he would NEVER had made Deity. Mao was a classic OTF poster only. However, AH is a different story. He would have made Deity even without his OTF posts.

I take it that is without pcr's?
Hmm, so 10,000 of 20,000 on topic, most in civ2 I'd presume.
What about you Ming......OT a big portion of yours or not?

I'm rather astonished when I think where I have gained all my counted posts.
My estimate, without any checks or searches, is that Civ II General and Civ II Strategy have a mucher portion than you would think, if you look at my current activity level there (which is zero, unless there's something to comment). However Civ III General and Civ III Help have also several hundred [it has to be as my posts must have come somewhere ] posts by me, despite I haven't posted there either. Now A/C and Stella Polaris seem to be the two forums where I gain most counted posts, despite I'm not the most "spamish" (not in the real sense of actual spam ) poster in the Stella Polaris forum. It has to be either Ace (actual member name Jeremy Buloch) or Targon that have the record (could be one Kurilka too actually) as e.g. Ace was only Chieftain or Settler when the StP forum opened, and now he's Prince, while Targon has only posted in the StP forum and he's Warlord with 277 posts. And in order not to go too far off-topic, I could continue that the post count rankings have no real mening in the StP forum as the Gateway013 has a post count of 42 (all of them in the StP forum), so based on Horsie's system he would have no value. However he very rarely posts anything short and it's always quality messages, so the post count has no real value.

Actually... the OTF is a much smaller portion than you might think for me. I posted extensively in the Civ II forums originally. Civ II strategy was a big area for me. As we first started to really disect the game and come up with new strategies, there were many, many posts. And then, came OCC, and the other challanges which I found Highly entertaining and discussed them at great lengths.
Civ II MP opened the door for tons of new posts. When it first came out, there was a lot of material to cover. Between discussing new strategies, and just setting up games... the posts just rolled in.
And then came the Civ III wishlist forums. I got heavily involved in finding all the cheats and bugs so that they could be avoided in the new game.
While I did post in the extensively in the original Civ II general forum, that later became the OTF in combination with other general forums, I really didn't post a lot in the new combined OTF. I was far more interested in Civ than the topics being discussed in the OTF. Plus, my old buddies were all Civ II people, and many of the "characters" in the new OTF came from other forums.
While I did post in the New OTF, it wasn't until I was "recruited" to be a mod that I really started posting heavily in that forum.
But I kind of laugh now when I hear how the old posts from the OTF counting as being unfair to newer posters who never had that opportunity. New posters have MANY MANY more forums to post in on topic. We never had Democracy Games to spam like new posters do now Heck, Trip made it to emperor in what, about 3 to 4 months... In the past, that would have been tough to do even when OTF posts counted. The opportunities for spam now are far greater than they ever were in the past.

AH made 20k posts and still had time to spam up a DL? Now, that takes dedication.

My last one was for not replying to a PM from Ming fast enough - even though I was asleep
And he banned a poster who wasn't my DL.

You were posting using his account. Which is quasi-DL-ish. But then on that issue Ming shouldn't be throwing stones.

Actually... the OTF is a much smaller portion than you might think for me.
|
A small portion to you is 1000posts. A small portion to me is 50 posts. I'm assuming we're going by your "small" portions.
anyways, back to the topic...
Rank really doesn't matter that much unless the people start pouring out incredibly rude statements; then I check their rank and they are usually a Settler in the OT.
(For some reason after reading this thread I started noticing people's ranks a lot more )

Rank does ALWAYS tell the story. There are several people in the OT that are Prince or higher that are always rude.
 ACK!
