Slightly off-topic but...
For some reason I've started drinking insane amounts of water. Will I grow out of this habit or am I stuck with it?
More on-topic... anyone ever seen Withnail and I?

Drinking water is good for you.

I am a social drinker -- two to three Smirnoff Ice or Skyy Blue a week when I go night clubbing.
And I usually go night clubbing only once a week -- usually Saturday nights.
I love wine, but that is rare, that I drink any.

smirnoff ice
I have been drinking too much lately. I'm still trying to get over the death of my friend. I didn't think it would take this long .

If I open bottle of wine, it usually takes me a week to finish it. I open a bottle of wine maybe three times a year.
Other than that, I have an assortment of brandies and whiskeys (mostly scotch), and I enjoy a glass every week or so.

Well, it was to be 07:00, but they're having trouble with one of the batches, so I'll be here through 11:00.

Zip. Zilch. Nada.
The only alcohol I get in my system is either from the touch of red wine my mom adds to her spagetti sauce or the brandy we use to flame kessari cheese to make saganaki. Mmmm...flaming cholesterol... *drool*

Strangely enough I drank far more back in high school than I do now when I'm legal.

Why would that change?
I'm in 2nd year college, isn't that where most drinking occurs?

no
in my observation, the highest ammount of alcohol use was soph year of college
there are spikes afterwards (turn 21, last semester, ect), but it is not constant like the sophmore year
bu those are just my observations (and I would think they would only hold true in the US)

Here, the "turn 21" stuff is "turn 18", which coincided with starting university too for me.
I still drank more when I was 17.
I think it'll stay like that too.
I think Lancer was implying that once you get older you may start drinking more because you become more bitter about life or something, but I don't see myself drinking away my problems...

yah, that is why I said I thought that it was only soph in the US (before 21 which was often junior year)
in canada, it would be the year before most turn 18

Most of Canada is 19 for drinking for some odd reason.
I'll never figure out why they chose 19.
Alberta is 18, as are some other provinces (Quebec I think?)

No, the interesting things become matter of fact. The repitition of life takes a break when you occasionally have a few. The important thing is to remember to never have a drink when you need one. Booze can be a demanding ***** if you let her take over.
